Its almost the end of 10th grade, and y/n, ray, Norman, and Emma, are excited for spending the summer together. they have all been best friends since 5th grade so why does y/ns heart skip a beat whenever they are around ray?

I check my phone for the time, 3:45. Perfect. I get dressed and grab my backpack, necklace inside. I check again. 3:55. Just enough time for me to get there. Cool.
I step onto his doorstep and sigh. I hope he likes the necklace. I ring the doorbell.
Your POV
*ding dong*
oh, that must be ray. "coming!" I open the door. He was wearing a dark sweater and black jeans.
I look away, trying not to show my blushing face. He looks really cute.
"hi y/n, are...you okay?"
"yeah! Um, come on in." I step back and he walks in.
"should I take my shoes off?"
"uh, yeah." He slips off his shoes. Once he is done, he looks at me, waiting for me to move. He has hardly been to my house in all our years of friendship so he doesn't really know what to do.
I start walking to my room, and ray follows. I open the door and flop onto my bed. Ray sets his backpack next to mine.
"hey ray do you want a snack"
"don't you have science to study?" He smirks as he pulls out a binder from his backpack.
"yeah but-"
"come on. Sit up"
"finnnneee"

6:30
"dude my brain is fried, I don't even know what we are doing anymore" I complain, falling on my back. "Do you want something to eat now? I'm gonna go get something."
"uh, no I'm fine." His stomach growls.
"oh really. Come on!" I grab his hand and drag him out of my room, to the kitchen.
I let go and look at Ray, who's cheeks are red. "What time is it?"
He looks at his phone. "6:35"
"um, we should eat dinner. Do you like mac and cheese?"
"In the 6 years you've known me, you keep forgetting that I love mac and cheese" he crosses his arms "how dare you"
"shut up" I go to the cupboard to get a box and I stretch and stand on my tippy toes to try and reach. I feel a body come up behind me, slightly leaning against me, and reach the box with no trouble.
"Here ya go" he hands it to me.
"Hmph" I mutter. "Can you get a pot out of that cupboard" I ask, pointing to one. He grabs a pot and turns the sink on, Filling it with water. He leans against the counter and I look back at him. He's looking me up and down quietly.
"do you need something?"
"no-"he trails off, remembering the water. He turns off the tap and hand me the pot. I put it on the stove and turn on the burner as ray pours the noodles in.
We finish making the food and we sit down at the table, eating quietly and quickly, being very hungry.
We finish, wash the dishes, and go back to my room.
We sit down on my bed when ray speaks up. "um,I got something I thought you would like." He stands up, goes over to his backpack, and pulls out a box, then hands it to me.

I open it and its a necklace with my initial on it. "Wow ray! I love it!"
"I thought so" I pull it out of the box and try to put it on. After seeing me struggle, ray scoots behind me and closes the clasp.
I look down at it and smile. I turn around and hug ray, him falling on his back in the process. When I realize what happened, both of us blush.
I get up and check the time again. 8:00. "Uh, do you wanna play Mario kart?"

After ray had beat me at least 5 times, I yawn and he looks at me. "I can head home if you want."
"no, you should stay the night, my parents won't be home until Sunday night so we don't have to worry about them. And besides, its like, 10:00. I'll sleep on the couch, you can have my bed."
"i- are you sure?"
"yeah. Do you need a shirt?"
"No, ill just wear mine."
I dig through my pants drawer and pull out a pair of shorts. "Here, wear these. Those pant wouldn't be comfortable to sleep in." I throw them at him.
"thanks" he starts taking off his sweater, his shirt coming up halfway while he does it. I look away and cover my red face again.

"sorry" he apologies
"its- fine. Ill go get changed" I grab my clothes and a blanket and pillow, saying "goodnight" as I walk out. I hear him yell the same as I close the bathroom door.
...
'Demons. A farm. Kids being raised. Ray. Norman. Emma.' I jump awake, terrified from my nightmare. I stand up, walk into my room, and get under the blanket on the other side of ray. He looks cute when he sleeps. Uh, no he doesn't.
"hmm" ray slowly opens his eyes, opening them a bit wider as he sees me.
"uh, sorry I had a nightmare"
"its all right" I close my eyes, then hearing him faintly humming a familiar song, thought I couldn't remember the name. Eventually I fell asleep, next to the boy I think I like.
