Minato took the kunai he threw at his student and carefully placed them back on his weapon pouch. Somehow the kunoichi was able to shake him off in order to get to what he thinks is the academy. The jounin was in no rush however, after all, he knew that Rin wouldn't be able to 'submit' the scroll anyway.

Rin Nohara was dumbstruck when her scroll wasn't accepted by the chunnin on guard duty in the academy. Not just the chunnin but each and every place she tried denied her.
"But why?!" She ended up yelling at the guard. The brunette didn't really act all ladylike, but she doesn't normally act impolitely either, thus startling both herself and the chunnin.
"Ahem, I'm sorry" The blue-haired chunnin coughed, "Maybe someone might ahem accept your scroll if you *cough* team members were present."
"Huh?" Rin stared dumbfoundedly
"Alright, I'll have to ask you to let me continue my mission (and my life as I have no intention of crossing the Yellow Flash and getting myself in trouble)." And like that chunnin kicked her out.
It took the brunette a couple of minutes to process his words but when it did Rin swore to thank him later. With that, she ran around trying to find her lost teammates. The genin was so excited to finish the task that she forgot about one big variable.
A distinct kunai flew towards her and rin quickly got ready to dodge any attack. Minato stood behind her as he lectured, "You shouldn't forget that a Hirashin mark can never be ridden"
She gulped and took her fighting stance, "Sensei." She tried keeping cool-headed, something essential when fighting a strong opponent.
Minato smiled at his student's effort. It was jounin's first time being an instructor thus he was not very proficient with handling these genins. Especially rin who was more reserved than the boys. He was ashamed but Minato knew he wasn't helping her as much as he was helping Obito and Kakashi and this test just happened to give him a chance to makeup for his mistakes.
As the blonde engaged in battle with Rin, the jounin also fixed her stance here and there whilst blocking her attacks. When rin understood his action, she tried understanding his correction and tried hitting more blows on the jounin.
Like that, a fight was turned into a training session.

However, it wasn't that simple for Sasuke and Kakashi.
The moment the silver haired chunnin woke up, he attacked Sasuke in every way possible.
Sasuke, on the other hand, dodged yet another one of the chunnin's attacks with an bored look, to provoke his opponent. But Kakashi stayed calm and attacked him while staying on guard.
"If I knew any better then I would say you have the skills of a chunnin of 2 years." Sasuke smiled but Kakashi remained focused and didn't give in to the rogue's distractions.
