The one week rest that the Hokage gave was supposed to give the Uchiha some time to hatch a plan. But unfortunately, Hiruzen was still doubtful of the man's motive and sent one of his stronger and more observant man.

Orochimaru smiled with glee, raising a hand for a handshake after introducing himself. Forcing a small smile, Sasuke took the hand. Normally he would ignore the hand and walk past, but the Uchiha had to act more 'normal' and not arrogant.

Of course, Sasuke understands why the kage is worried and sent an exceptional ninja. But it's Orochimaru we are talking about! Unlike Madara who believed there would be a peaceful world under infinite Tsukuyomi, or black Zetsu who only wanted to resurrect his mother, Orochimaru thought pure evil. Yes in the war he decided to take the shinobi alliance side, but that was because he realized that while walking the road of immortality he might end up like Kabuto did! There isn't any way Sasuke could pull him to his side, not when even Naruto couldn't!

"Have you eaten yet, Sasuke kun?" Orochimaru offered "The Yakiniku meat is quite popular in Konoha."

But Sasuke didn't feel like going there. Sure when he and the Konoha 12 met, it was mostly there or Ichiraku ramen. But Sasuke wanted to go over to the small Dango shop just left the market. Ever since the massacre, he hadn't ever set foot at the shop where his older brother would go secretly but now he regretted that choice and wanted to visit the small cafe.

"It's too early for meat, is there any dango place nearby? I heard Konoha's dango is worth the try." Sasuke asked for suggestions, even though he already decided where to go.

Orochimaru inwardly raised an eyebrow before replying with a smile, "Of course, there is a dango place near the central market, we can go there." Smiling, Sasuke nodded.

The two walked in relative silence, only talking about light subjects that Orochimaru offered to raise.

Taking a seat on the wooden bench, the two ninjas asked for their desired sweet and tea.

"The Hokage told that you defected from the village, but I don't think someone as unique as you would get unnoticed by me." The snake couldn't help but show his curiosity.

"I was quite young back than." Sasuke answered though not liking this sudden interrogation.

"From my point of view, Sasuke-kun, you are already very young." He persisted.

"My father defected with me after my mother's death." He made a small backstory up.

The story was somewhat believable and Orochimaru might have bought this lie but the story seem unrealistic to the sannin and he deemed it false.
