Enoch flipped a Grey in the air.  He noticed how badly it was chipping.  Pieces of grey paint were rubbing onto his palm.

He reached The Market and grabbed a small piece of bread.  He found an apple that looked comparatively good to the rest in the basket.  He asked the man running the fountain to fill his canteen with water.  All that came to 340 units.

Enoch pulled three Golds and four Greys out of his pocket.  The man gave him his change and packed his food in a used, brown bag.  Enoch took his lunch and walked towards The Gardens across the Main Circle.  He glanced back and saw Naor in The Store laughing and drinking some strange, silvery liquid.  Naor didn't notice Enoch.

He sighed and continued to his regular lunch spot.  He sat in a place where he could see the bench.  The bench whose front left leg held the key to freedom.  Enoch ran over the plan in his head while he bit off chunks of dry bread and mushy apple.

He just about finished off his water when a wrinkled man stumbled around the corner of the Vaporizer.  He tripped and fell.  Enoch was just about to help him up when the old man said,  "Don't worry.  I've stil got strength in my own bones."

Enoch sat back down and watched as the man got up and sat next to him.

"Yeh know," he slurred.  His breath had a strange, sweet aroma.  "I love these gardens.  Jus' look!"  The man grabbed enoch's head and turned it to pan around the entire circle.  "In fact,"  he continued,  "I love thes' whole place!"  He sighed and fell asleep.

Enoch finished his lunch just as the alarm signaled everyone to go back to work.  He got up and started walking towards the work complex when he looked back at the man.

"Hey!"  Enoch walked back.  "Get up!  It's time to work!"

The old man didn't get up.
