Inside the training room, thirteen people were already practicing. Eric was in the left corner of the room fighting with another boy that looked about Eric and Riley's age. He had brown hair and bright blue eyes, that stood out vividly.

"Who's the person that Eric is fighting with?" Riley asked.

"That's Cory. He's been here for about two years. Cory and Eric practice together all the time," Ariana told Riley.

"So, who did Eric hang out with before Cory got here?" Riley asked.

"Eric was pretty shy around others, but we hung out all the time," Ariana said.

Just then, Jen walked into the room from the doors opposite of Riley and Ariana. Everyone stopped what they were doing, and turned toward Jen, awaiting her instructions.

"Today, we are going to start easy for Riley, but we will elevate quickly, so pay attention," Jen shouted so everyone could hear her. Riley's face turned bright red.

"First, we will learn defense, then offense. Lets's get started." Jen shouted again.

First, they learned ducking out of the way of a punch or a kick to the head. They carried on with the day, practicing with few breaks. Right before lunch, they had just started learning offense,

Just before they left the room to get lunch, Riley overheard a group of boys talking about her. She stopped to listen.

"Riley? She is such a newbie!"

"Are you kidding? She would be able to kick your butt!" another boy said.

Riley smiled when she heard this, and continued listening.

"No way! I bet it was pure luck that she made it into this training class!" the first boy said defending himself.

Just then, Eric walked over with Cory trailing behind him.

"Would you just stop making fun of everyone who is better than you!" he shouted at the boy.

"Oh, does that mean I can make fun of you?" the boy taunted, highfiving one of his friends.

"No Caleb, because in case you don't remember, I beat you in training every year you have been here, and I'm positive I could do it again!" Eric yelled.

"Oooh, trying to look tough in front of your grilfriend?" Caled taunted agin, trying to get the upper hand.

Eric didn't say anything, so Caleb kept taunting him.

"She's been watching us this whole time," he said, "and she is probably realizing how pathetic you are!"

"That's it!" Eric shouted. As he was about to throw a punch at Caleb, Cory held him back, and started to drag Eric out of the training room.

"Don't ever talk about Riley like that ever again!" Eric yelled.

"Or what? Your sister will protect you?" Caleb yelled back.

"Leave her out of this!" Eric responded, as he struggled to be released from Cory's grip as he was being pulled through the door.

Caleb and his friends started snickering and laughing as soon as the doors closed.

"Come on, Riley," Ariana said sounding angry as she pulled Riley through the other door. Riley had no choice but to follow.
