Dragon Scars

Chapter 7

"Eric has a sister?" Riley asked Ariana as soon as they sat down at a table with their llunch.

"Yeah," she replied.

"Who is it?" Riley asked really wanting to know.

Eric sat down before Ariana could answer.

"Hey, sis," Eric said glumly to Ariana.

"Hey," she said equally as glum.

"You're Eric's sister?" Riley whispered to Ariana. Ariana nodded in reply. Riley was shocked, but when she thought it through, it made perfect sense. Both had blond hair and some of the same facial features. Riley now saw a definate resemblance.

"Soo," Riley said trying to break the silence, "We have some free time after lunch, right?"

"Yeah," Eric said, switching his glance from his mashed potatoes to Riley, "What should we do during that free time?"

"I don't know, I haven't been staying here long enough to know what there is to do around here," Riley said.

"Oh, we could go down to the game room, and play some Ping Pong, or we could go to the arcade room," Ariana suggested.

"Nah, we should go outside of headquarters! We rarely ever get to leave. It would be kinda fun!" Eric exclaimed.

"Sounds good to me," Riley said, "I don't think I can stay here all day long!"

"Me neither, not after training today that is," Ariana agreed.

"It's settled then, we'll go in half an hour, so you guys can finish eating," Eric said.

Cory walked up to the table and sat down with the group.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"We're going to go out to town," Ariana answered him.

"Mind if I come?" Cory asked.

"Not at all," Ariana said.

"I don't mind," said Eric, "Do you mind if Cory tags along, Riley?"

"It would be great if you could come with us!" Riley told Cory.

"Great, we should wear our casual clothes. They are used for just this sort of thing," Cory said.

"Good thinking," Ariana and Eric said at the same time.

"Half and hour, ok?" Eric said as he and Cory stood to leave.

"Got it," Riley said, "See you then!"

After eating their food, Riley and Ariana dumped their trays, and started talking again.

"How did you and your brother both end up here?" Riley asked.

Ariana was silent for a moment, then responded, "Can we go somewhere quiet to talk about this?"

"Where to?" Riley asked.

"We have about fifteen minutes. Follow me," Ariana spoke quietly.

Riley followed Ariana through the halls until they reached a door. The hall was just like the hall Riley's room was in.

'Maybe this is Ariana's room,' she thought.

Ariana grasped the knob and opened the door. The two girls walked into the room.
