"jungwon, sorry for not showing up yesterday. i was just super busy." geonu said when he saw jungwon sat next to him in his class.

jungwon didn't say anything and just brought out something out of his bag. geonu stared at a paper bag that seemed to have a gift inside. the older was confused to what it contains.

jungwon then handed it to geonu and geonu then examined the paper bag first and stared at the older. he saw the younger's look— his eyes squinting a little, his smile no where to be seem.

geonu then finally opened the gift bag and saw a vintage leather journal. he took the journal out of the bag and opened it to the first page. he was then shocked as he read the first sentence that was shown.

'happy anniversary babe...'

geonu then whispered an 'oh shit' as he starts to read the other lines that the younger has written.

babe... i don't know where to start. by the time you read this, we're probably at the restaurant enjoying this special day as i suddenly give you this gift. i hope you don't get mad at me since i know you hate receiving presents especially from me. i don't want to say a lot since you already know. i love you, geonu.

"jungwon, babe, im so sorry. i know you probably don't want to face me right now and i really don't have any way out of this, but i swear to god—i never meant to forget about yesterday. something really urgent just came up." geonu said sincerely, holding jungwon's hands as he say those words.

jungwon then fell for it again.

"no, im sorry. i shouldn't have made our anniversary a big deal. i was just sad that you didn't make it, but atleast you asked jay to replace you and yesterday was still okay." jungwon explained.

it was always gonna be like that. geonu can't make it to the dates and jungwon will always be the one to apologize.

actually— jungwon never knew how the older suddenly just started getting "busy". he just remembered that one day he was asked to meet up in the school garden but the older never showed up. all the dates and plans the couple makes has been either cancelled or was replaced by jay and jungwon since the older kept on making the same excuse that he was "busy".

"i promise that i'll make it up to you." geonu said as he wrapped his arms around the younger. jungwon hugged back but his face wasn't happy nor sad. he wasn't angry nor gloomy. he was emotionless.

yesterday,

"he was just busy, jungwon." jay said.

"it's our anniversary." jungwon said. the younger smirked seeing the older's reaction. the older was looking at the younger sympathetically.

"you don't have to pity me." jungwon added.

"im sorry, it's just— if i knew that it was you guys' anniversary, i would've forced him to come instead." jay said. he honestly thought it was just another date that the two planned but it was more.

"it's okay, maybe he's just really busy or had something important to do today." jungwon said and smiled. the older could tell it was fake.

"enough about geonu, wanna walk around the beach for a while or you wanna change already." jay stated as he

"can we walk first? i don't really wanna leave yet?" jungwon amswered as he grabbed one of jay's hands and intertwined their hands. jay then followed the younger as they were just walking around. no one spoke up, just the waves crashing together and the wind was the only sound they could hear (and their heartbeats). they didn't talk, but it was comfortable.

they stopped walking once they saw the big rocks blocking the other side of the beach. they looked back and realized that they were already far from the beach house.

"Race you to the house!" Jungwon yelled and ran. the older smirked and ran after him. unsurprisingly, jay caught up in no time.

the two was exhausted once they made it to the house. jay washed up in his room and jungwon washed up in the guest room. jay gave jungwon some of his spare clothes that was there.

they decided to just head straight home since it was getting dark and was still a long ride to jungwon's house.

jay was currently in class, his professor was currently explaining their next big project was to construct a procedure to make a clothing or an accessory to present during class.

"what are you planning to create?" taehyun, his classmate asked.

"not sure yet, probably a jacket." jay said. he actually thought if he wanted to just pass the class or maybe try something new. either way, he knew that he's going to pass the class because all his pieces were always approved and recognized internationally even though it's just for college project.

jay then headed to one of their convenient stores until he saw heeseung. he was about to say hi to him until he saw him running away to one of the abandoned classroom. he then shrugged off thinking he was going to meet someone there.

he then left to go inside the convenient store. he was currently in the drinks aisle and was about to get his drink until he bumped into someone.

"jay?" geonu asked as he saw the guy he bumped into.

"geonu? what are you doing here?" jay asked.

"i was getting a little bit hungry so i ran here to get something to eat." geonu said. jay hummed as a response and was about to pass the older.

"oh, thanks by the way. i was really busy yesterday." geonu said.

jay smirked. "it's nothing, but next time—you should really make time for your boyfriend. okay?" jay said and grabbed his drink and left to the cashier leaving a dumbfounded geonu.
