"wait—how did jay become a part of this?"

"well, during jake's party for sunghoon. he kind of caught me and geonu in the act. so he got mad at us and told me and geonu that if we don't tell you soon, he'll tell you himself." heeseung explained.

"so, he knew?" jungwon asked, his voice almost cracking.

heeseung and geonu nodded. jungwon felt like a joke. he thought that jay must have been laughing at him everytime they had a conversation about his relationships. and that stupid kiss.

'no wonder why he said those words.' jungwon thought.

jungwon was angry. did jay just use him? did jay just kiss jungwon to get back to the two? did jay just played with jungwon?

"jungwon." jungwon's mind came back to reality as he stared back at the two couple.

"are you mad?" geonu asked.

"no."

"you two did nothing wrong. well, maybe it was a bit fucked up that you two did this behind my back but honestly y'all had no choice. geonu was scared to hurt me and i was too late to realize how my relationship wasn't going well and that we both fell out of love. geonu, you deserve to be happy, both of us do. and if the reason that you're happy is heeseung, then be with him." jungwon said.

the two looked at each other and smiled. jungwon knew there was nothing left to be fixed for him and geonu. it was finally time to let each other go.

"and plus, you both looked good together." jungwon added.

"we do." heeseung said and chuckled.

"i hope you find someone that deserves you and loves you the same way you love them." geonu said which caused jungwon to smile.

"well, that won't be happening anytime soon." jungwon chuckled.

although jungwon wasn't mad about geonu and heeseung, he was still mad to a specific person.

"i better go." jungwon said. it was getting late and he just wants to go to his apartment already.

"oh okay. bye jungwon." geonu said. heeseung also replied after.

geonu went up to jungwon and hugged him one last time. jungwon hugged back too. once they separated from each other, jungwon waved and left the coffee shop.

jay just came back from his meeting. he was heading to the elevator, but he ran when he saw it was already closing.

he sighed when the elevator was still open. he went inside and was about to press his floor number when he saw it was already lit up.

"why didn't you tell me?" jungwon asked lightly causing jay to stumble in surprise.

"oh jungwon, i didn't see you there." jay chuckled, but stopped when he didn't see jungwon reacting.

"what's wrong?" jay asked.

"you knew." jungwon suddenly said.

"knew about what?" jay asked causing jungwon to chuckle.

"about geonu and heeseung." jungwon replied.

jay was silent. jungwon chuckled, "its kinda funny, to be honest. that me and geonu cheated on each other. but i didn't tell him about that."

"jungwon—i could explain." jay said.

"no, its okay. i get it. you found out that he cheated on me and then you kissed me so that i could have revenge on him." jungwon said.

before jay could even comprehend what the younger was saying, jungwon already left the elevator. when jay saw he was at his floor already, he quickly ran to the younger.

jungwon was just at his door when jay turned him around.

"jungwon, do you seriously think i did all of that for revenge?" jay asked.

"look, its one thing to go kiss someone. but its different when you pretend you actually have feelings for them." jungwon explained.

"so you thought my feelings for you weren't real?" jay asked.

jungwon didn't speak. he was just looking at anything but into jay's eyes that's just about to burst into tears.

"jungwon, what can i do to make you realize that i actually love you."

jungwon eyes then finds its way back to jay and all that he could see in it was sincerity.

"i loved you ever since you showed up to the group. i loved you ever since you smiled and showed me your little dimple. i loved you even though you were happy with someone else." jay finally said.

"we can't." jungwon let out.

"heeseung and geonu are still together. jungwon, for once, be selfish and follow your goddamn heart." jay lightly cry out.

for a second, jungwon was about to take the jump. for a second, he was ready to take him. for a second, he was ready to be selfish. for a second, he was thinking of jumping into jay's arms and kiss him once more.

but that was only just for a second.

because after that second, the next few words that leaves jungwon's mouth is nothing but a lie.

"but you're wrong." jungwon lied.

"im not wrong about anything." jay replied.

"its not mutual. i don't have feelings for you." jungwon gulped.

"why'd you kiss back then?" jay asked.

"i never meant for it to mean anything." jungwon replied.

"how many times have you kissed geonu?" jay asked while staring directly at the younger.

jungwon sighed, "i've never kissed him like that."

jay couldn't believe what he was hearing. he knew jungwon has feelings for him too, but he couldn't help to think that maybe he was wrong. that maybe jungwon just treats him like a brother and that kiss really didn't mean anything to him.

"jungwon, im gonna ask you again."

"do you really not have any feelings for me?"

"i don't."
