I opened my eyes to see the ceiling I had been so accustomed to for the past school year. I shuffled in my covers for a bit, my body refusing to get out of bed. Eventually, I forced myself to rise up from the soft mattress, putting my blanket to the side.
I let out a loud yawn, and stretched out my arms.
"Today will be a normal day. No distractions, no worries, no problems." I said to myself, walking into the bathroom.
Until my phone rang.
"Hello?"
"I need you, over here, now."
"Why? Do you miss me that much?"
"N-No, that's not the reason! Just get over here, or suffer the consequences."
And with that, my day was no longer normal.
Timeskip
I softly knocked on Suzune's door, and waited. I could hear the clacks of shoes hitting hardwood floor from behind the door.
"You're here." Suzune said, holding the door open. She was in her normal school uniform, and had her usual red bow tie. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, so I don't know why she'd ask me to come over here.
"What's up?"
"Look at this." She said, pointing at her phone. I take a peek, and immediately notice the problem.
"Someone started a rumor about us?"
"Exactly. It's been all over the school newspaper." Suzune said, shutting her phone off. Recently, the school newspaper club had been established. It was mostly made up of gossiping girls who would spread things regardless of their legitimacy.
"Well? What do you suggest?" Suzune asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"I mean, we haven't exactly been hiding it. However, we can still try and search for suspects if you'd like." I suggested. Suzune put her hand to her chin, and considered my idea. Eventually, she nodded in agreement.
I opened the door, signaling I was leaving. Suzune looked confused as I started to walk out, so I'm assuming she thought we'd walk together.
"What are you doing?"
"Going to class first. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, okay." Suzune said, looking a bit sad. I let out an exasperated sigh, and closed the door behind me.
"Do you want to walk with me?"
"No, not at all."
"You sure? You seemed a bit sad."
"Just go. It's better for us to be separated until we make an official statement anyway." She said, pushing me out of the room.
"Bye-" The door slammed in my face, putting a significant barrier between me and Suzune. The silence of the long, narrow hallways became even louder as I walked to class. It seems like everyone went to class already.
My shoes clacked against the tiled floor as I walked into class. Everyone's eyes locked onto me, like I was a prize that everyone wanted.
"Um.............hello?" I blurted. The silence remained there, and nobody dared to speak. I nervously walked to my seat in the back, feeling everyone's stares burn into me. I looked over and saw Ike smirking, and barely being able to hold in a laugh.
Suzune followed right after, and basically got the same treatment as me. She elegantly walked up to the podium, and cleared her throat.
"Ahem.......Hello, my fellow classmates. Recently, rumors were spread around about my relationship with Ayanokouji. Today, I'm here to state the status of our relationship."
