I'm gonna pack my things and leave you behind
This feeling's old and I know
That I've made up my mind
I hope you feel what I felt
When you shattered my soul
'Cause you were cool and I'm a fool
So please let me go***
Waking up this morning was weird. I don’t have blinds yet so I woke up to the sun shining through the window and into my eyes. I was angry for a second, until I remembered I was in New York and suddenly I was in a much better mood.
I picked up my phone from the nightstand to see that it’s 7 am. Perfect.
I planned on going to a coffee shop this morning if I woke up early enough so I took this as my sign to get up and get ready. I jump out of bed and quickly make it, throwing my pillows on the floor so I can put the comforter all the way up to the top of the bed, putting the pillows on top of it.
I take probably the quickest shower of my life and before I get dressed, I stay in the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my body as I brush my teeth. When I finish freshening up, I walk back to my room across the hall and look through my closet for some clothes.
After a couple minutes of looking through everything, I settle on a navy blue and yellow sweater, boyfriend cut jeans, and a beret. I throw on some long socks with cherries embroidered on the cusp of them and put my white high tops on over them. I put on some blush and mascara because I’m not too big on makeup and go back to the bathroom to send a picture to Bella.
She responds almost immediately with a picture of her face super close up to the camera and captioned it “you look so hot go find a cafe boy right now!!”
I laugh when I see her response and grab my laptop, sitting back down on my bed to look up cafes near me. I see one two blocks away and looking at the pictures, it’s beautiful. I get up and grab my tote bag, tossing it on my shoulder with my laptop inside and head out the door. I figure two blocks is close enough to walk plus I want to see more of the city so it works in my favor anyways.
