Oh my love, can't you see yourself by my side
No surprise when you're on his shoulder like every night
Oh my love, can't you see that you're on my mind
Don't suppose we could convince your lover to change his mind***
I’m in a club.
After I asked Preston to call it a night he did some questionable things. Things that immediately made me wish Harry was there. He grabbed me, cornered me in my own bedroom, and even got me on my bed until I was able to work up the courage to push him off of me and make him leave. We haven’t talked since.
My infatuation with Preston was very short lived but even then, it went on long enough. It was kinda like driving around in a brand new car but every single street ends up being a dead end. It’s new and exciting but goes absolutely nowhere.
Never settle for that. No matter what.
I called Harry before I went to sleep asking if I could have Monday off using the excuse that I came down with a cold but it didn’t necessarily work because he showed up to my house that morning on his way to the shop with a cup of iced green tea and a tupperware container of chicken soup.
When he noticed that I wasn’t sick I decided to not beat around the bush and just tell him what happened considering he had already seen my red eyes and runny nose from the amount of tears I shed. He’s way too good to me though because he let me stay home anyways and even offered to keep the shop closed for the day if I wanted company but I told him that wasn’t necessary.
He left the container of soup and I basically let it replace all of my meals for the past two days, not having enough energy to cook or go out for anything else. Harry also told me to stay home on Tuesday because he was planning on closing up the store early anyways for the holiday. 4th of July, one of the stupidest holidays in my opinion.
The holiday where high schoolers from all over the country get drunk for the very first time, fireworks are set off like nothing, raising the anxiety within some of us to the extreme, trying not to think too hard about whether the sound you heard was a gunshot or the pyromaniacs down the street lighting an entire row of firecrackers at once.
Growing up just 30 minutes from Disney World I got used to the sound of the 10 o’clock firework show, but there was always a part of me that feared that one of the large explosions wasn’t the sound of a firework but rather something much more fatal. That fear only expanding on the 4th.
That fear is what led me here.
In a nightclub with lights that cast a pinkish tint and music that blocks out the sounds of the evergoing fireworks. Harry recommended it.
Coming over after he closed the store for the day, he asked if I wanted to take a walk to a park about 2 miles from my apartment to catch the Macy’s fireworks and when I declined he shook his head as he looked at me from my spot on the bed with a smile tugging up on his lips as he jumped on my bed to lay on his back next to me.
