Pretty boy, you did this with me, boy
Now it's all about to end
Baby girl, look where we made it, girl
Hmm, now we're falling
As long as I got you
I'm gonna be alright

It’s been a week since I got my resume back to Harry and today is my first day. He told me he’d let me start working immediately if he could, but he had to finalize some things before I could legally work for him. That didn’t stop me from going there every day after I had breakfast at The Coffee Project, to play piano and help clean up some things. If I was being honest, I liked his company and my apartment felt so empty all the time because I haven’t had the chance to decorate it.

Okay, I’ve had multiple chances, I just never took them because I’d rather be in the music store. I wonder if Harry ever thought of naming it because right now, the sign just says “MUSIC” and I made sure to tease him about how clever it was. We texted back and forth fairly often but not as much as I’ve been texting Preston.

When I came back to The Coffee Project for the second day in a row, right before I was about to leave, Preston asked for my number so I gave it to him and we’ve been texting ever since. We don’t have too much in common and the conversations can get slightly boring at times but I’m going to give us the benefit of the doubt and blame it on the fact that we’ve only known each other for a week.

I don’t know how I didn’t realize that we also only knew each other for a week but still had some of our best times together. At least I can say we were both equally blind and stupid.

This past week I’ve been exploring the city a lot more. I finally drove Betty around because Harry told me about this taco truck about 20 minutes away when I told him I was craving tacos. I haven’t ridden the subway yet but I hope to soon. I also never bought blinds. There’s something about waking up every morning to the sun rather than my blaring alarm clock that makes mornings a lot better. I started going up to the fire escape to read because when you’re able to tune out the crazy sounds of the city, it creates this environment around you that’s weirdly peaceful. I didn’t worry about anyone seeing me either because I was in my own world.

I also had my first virtual movie night Friday. It was weird but I’m glad I was there. Bella FaceTimed me and propped me up on the couch so I could watch the movie with them. Ethan ended up taking the phone from her after the movie and we teamed up to play Uno. Rather than sitting in my room, I went to my living room and sat on the floor because for some reason, I found it comfortable.

Getting up this morning was so much better than normal because I woke up to someone knocking on my door and when I opened it, forgetting I was still in my pajamas, Harry was standing there with a box of donuts and coffee in his hands.

“Morning New York! Happy first day of work!” he said as he reached one of the iced coffees out for me to grab. That’s another thing we started doing. Whenever he would leave for lunch, I’d go with him and order some type of cold drink and we both quickly learned that neither of us like hot drinks. They’re too serious.
