Katsuki looked confused when he saw his dad waiting outside for him at U.A. Since when did he start to pick him up from school?
His father motioned him to come and got into the car. Katsuki sighed and walked towards the car, not knowing that the following hours would be life changing for him.
*-----*
The car ride was silent, as Katsuki spent most of his time looking out of the window. Normally, his dad would've made small talk with him, but due to the recent events, katsuki knew he was still mad.
He immediately jerked up, as he saw his father not stopping at their house. Confusion clouding his mind, he decided to question it.
Katsuki: Old man, why aren't you stopping at our house?
Masaru sighed and forcibly smiled at his son, while answering his question.
Masaru: An emergency came and your mother had to go, so I decided to take you somewhere to have some father-son time.
Katsuki snorted at his father's answer and continued staring out the window.
Masaru sighed again at his son's reaction. He wanted to be angry, but knew that it wasn't the right thing to do. He continued to drive until they reached their destination.
It was the cemetery.
Katsuki's eyes widened when he saw that they were at the cemetery. He was about to yell at his dad, but his dad started speaking before he could.
Masaru: You're just like your uncle. Blessed with an amazing quirk and talent, you're just like him, even your attitude is the same as his.
His dad chuckled, while his eyes widened in surprise. He had an uncle who had an amazing quirk, so why didn't they tell him about his uncle earlie-
Katsuki might be a short tempered angry pomeranian, but he wasn't stupid. There could only be one reason that his father was now telling him about his uncle and at the cemetery,
And that reason was that his uncle was dead.
His father opened the door and got out of the car, so naturally, katsuki followed him. On their way inside the cemetery, his dad continued talking about his uncle.
Masaru: He had a quirk that was pretty similar to mine, the exception was his quirk allowed him to control the secretion of the explosive substance that his body produced. So naturally, everyone started to tell him how great his quirk was and how talented he was…………..just like you.
At the end of his sentence, he looked at his son who was probably, after like 11 years, intently listening to his words. He sighed and continued on.
Masaru: After getting all of this praise, he became to sure of himself. If overconfidence ever needed an example, he'd probably be the best one. It got so bad, to the point that he literally stopped asking for anyone's help and started bullying other kids of his age.
Katsuki nervously chuckled after hearing that.
Masaru: One day, he was caught up in a villain attack. A civilian tried to help him, but he refused and you know what happened next…..
On cue he stopped walking and knelt down a grave. Katsuki saw the tombstone and froze up.
"Here lies the one, who was the death of himself"
"Riku Bakugo"
His father smiled as few tears escaped his eyes.
Masaru: It's been a while, Ri-nee.
