The girls held the door one after another— all leaving with different expressions plastered on their faces. Maren first, then Christina, next Lily, after Talia, and finally Amber. The tension was thick as Lily and Amber glanced each other's ways. They didn't hate each other, they just didn't like each other. Amber was Christina's girlfriend before Chris became Christina. She sorta became friends with all of them and then Christina starting transitioning— and she stuck.
She's good in that sense, Amber, closed off and 100% annoying, but loyal to those that effect her. And Christina was an effective person, filled with humour and love for all. All the girl were actually quite similar in that way— each one of them shared one thing— pure kindness. Maybe in their own ways but— all kind.
"Okay. Thoughts?" Amber ushered out.
"I didn't think they'd take it that seriously." Christina joked.
"Why wouldn't they? The next king or queen could've been sitting next to us in there." Talia responded while hooking her arm with Maren's.
"Doubt it. The top 25 are 100% gonna be from upper side Terra, even Amber can agree with me on that." Lily scoffed.
"True, I do agree. But less about them and more about us! Who here thinks they did well?" Amber squealed.
"It's kind of hard to judge how well we did with the type of answers they were looking for. I mean the first page; information about yourself, second page; history of Terra, third page: Skill set, strengths and weaknesses, multiple choice scenarios, then the fourth page essay questions." Maren covered all four parts of the test.
You started off by going into a line where they ask for your name and age, then use the face scanners to double check you into the system. Afterwards they prick your finger and staple it to your paper, Lily skipped it however, Rosaline Grimmes, the bitchiest, snobbiest, most upper class a-hole you'll ever meet— knocked Lily out of the line. Taking her needle and her spot next to Maren.
The tests were scheduled to deal with the mass amount of contestants, so they shooed her away to the back of room with a paper and a pencil. The chairs locked your thighs into place for the 1 hour they gave you, Terra—mind you— was the most futuristic and technologically advanced city in the world.
Lily actually enjoyed the test— she taught history to her younger siblings on Wednesday's along with their friends so she aced all those questions, even corrected some of the questions too. It was risky but hey— it was for fun.
Everything else was talking about yourself and what you would do in stressful situations. It was a piece of cake for her— wisdom and words came so easily that she didn't even have to use her extra thinking paper to outline a script like the others had. She just grabbed the pencil and started spelling.
The results would be delivered through mail on Sunday between 7 am or 2 am, odd timeline but they did have a lot of teenagers to deliver to.
The 5 young women found a spot on a city bench, 4:30 PM on Lily's phone.
"I for one thought it was easy— I can't believe that's all it takes to become the queen." Amber boasted.
The other girls laughed at her stupidity.
"Those were only the entrance tests, they go up in difficulty once you actually make the cut." Lily rolled her eyes.
"And you're so sure because?" Amber pecked.
"Because, if you read the fine print, it says that taking the test only means you want to be considered. Not that you would make a good fit." She taught the group.
