in advance, sorry for my bad punctuation, I was rushing when I wrote this :)
I love bread, especially garlic bread (hence my username being GarlicBreadAce) One of my favourite forms of bread is cake. and for those of y'all that say cake isn't a bread, please kindly shut the fuck up 🙂
Reasons why it's a bread
• it's bread like (same texture)
•It's made with a dough or batter like substance
•the only difference is that it has more sugar(I just remembered something)
you know biscuits, like the ones from crackerbarrel (if u live in America) they are actually scones. Let me explain.
Biscuits are things like gingernuts (I live in New Zealand, so gingernuts are like ginger short bread biscuits). biscuits are also like ANZAC biscuits, but they are not cookies. Cookies are things like chocolate chip cookies.
now that I've cleared that up, let's get back on track.
Most Americans say that the scones from crackerbarrel are biscuits. that does not make any sense what so ever. If the scones are biscuits, then what do you call scones?, you would call them scones right?. wrong, you would call it bread because your version of a scone is more bread like.
Your scones and biscuits are exactly the same thing. A scone is like bread but it's more tough and can be easily split in the middle, usually served with butter, jam or whatever you have with scones I don't know. So why do you call scones biscuits when biscuits are different.
Biscuits are like cookies but I believe that they are slightly thicker and possibly softer, and a cookie would be a smaller version of a biscuit that is typically harder.
If I lived in the states I would probably call scones biscuits too, but that wouldn't make any sense. I am from New Zealand, I was born in New Zealand but I'm American, I believe that me having American and Kiwi parents has taught me to use all of those terms in a way that makes sense.
This is getting a bit confusing now but i'll make it work.
So you (when I say you I mean most of America). you say that your biscuits and scones are different but they are actually the same. If your biscuits are exactly like your scones, then why don't you call both of them scones. it makes life easier.
now we had different category's that make sense for each cookie (in general, the different stages of cookie is just cookie to the power of cookie.....if that makes sense)
It's basically doubling.
Cookie = cookie
Biscuits = cookie x cookie
Scone = Biscuit x biscuit
Bread = scone(2) that means bread is scone to the power of 2 or sconeif that's the case, then that means that cake is scone(2) because cake is technically just sweet bread. (See how I came full circle 😏) So with that said, cake is a bread because cake is scone(2) and scone(2) is just a tougher version of bread.
Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about cupcakes, and why they are kinda weird.
So............
(this may be a long chapter)
so, cupcakes is just mini cakes. So why don't we call them mini cakes. If we had a larger cake, we wouldn't call it a tire cake would we?. no. we would call it a large cake, because that's what it is.
I feel that the title "cupcake" is very misleading and such a let down. If you take an average cup and measure it, it's probably around 4 ish inches tall (10-ish cm). now if we measure a cup cake mould, it's 2cm tall. That is bull-shitterey. If you were to make an actual cupcake like you promised, it would be larger than 2cm (height/depth)
