“Kyen, listen, Ashton told me earlier that Raff haven’t been found yet.” Lulu said in alarming tone.

“What? Is he dead?” I mocked.

“You’re kidding me, right?” Lulu said seriously.

“Do I look serious?” I answered.

“Stop it Kyen! You’re not making any sense!” Lulu cried.

Yes, she’s right. I’m not making any sense to the point that I showed them that I don’t have any concern about Raff which is reversed. I don’t want to let them see that I’m worried too but that is how my ego and faint-heartedness works. “Yes Lu! I’m not making any sense because I don’t care about him!” I lied.

“Really, Kyen? Is that how you treated a person who cares for you? I guess I’m wrong about you.” she mumbled and left me hanging.

“Lu, wait. I’m sorry, I just don’t want—”

“Don’t want what? You don’t want to show your concern towards Raff? I know there is Kyen! So, there’s no way you could deny it! And the thing is you’re not true to us, even to your own self! You’re a coward!” Lulu said and went off.

“Lu, wait, let me explain.” But I know that she didn’t hear me because she already left. My tears started to fall down to my cheeks. I checked my phone and saw Kirby’s number on my screen.

From Kirby: Lu, let’s meet in starbucks in megamall. I want to tell you something.

To Kirby: How can you ask me with that after all that you said when we were at the resort?! Do you have your conscience?

From Kirby: Just please trust me with this. I really need you to come.

To Kirby: why don’t you just tell me right here?

From Kirby: you won’t understand. It needs to be subjective.

To Kirby: Okay, I’ll come, but it doesn’t mean that we’re now okay.

From Kirby: I know. See you later.

I haven’t told him about the deal with Raff, so, I said yes to him.

“Hi.” He said to me, “Sit here.” he offered me a sit that is infront of him.

“What do you want?” I asked him.

“I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I’m really sorry that I treated you badly.” He apologized deeply.

“You know what Kirby, I think I should go. I really have something important to do right now so I don’t want to waste my time here.” I got up but he stopped me.

“I’m not yet done,” he said, “just stay there.” I give in and listened to him. “I did it because, I had enough. I was mad; I don’t what was with me that time. Every time I see you with Raff, is like, my world is staggering under my feet. I acted that way because I have this strange feeling towards you. I don’t know why, but every time I’m with you, is like happiness. It’s like; I can’t compare anything from this moment. It makes me hate myself more because each day, each day of my life with you makes me fall, fall in love with you. Everything changed when you dated Raff. I was so depressed those past days. But I couldn’t stop to think for your own happiness. I always discern that Raff really makes you happy. I can see that. Now that I know that you really like Raff, I should give myself a second chance and got to take the next step, you weren’t the one. Kyen, I’m leaving.”

“Where are you going?” I asked him slowly that my tears started to build up in my lower eyelids.

“I’m going to continue my studies in Italy. My dad thinks that it’s way good to live there.

“Are you sure about that?” I asked him.

“Yes, I’m going to leave tomorrow.”

“What, tomorrow? It’s too soon for you to leave.”

“Oh, no. my dad had planned it this last Saturday.” He stated. “But if I got the chance to you, just tell me. And I’m gonna miss you.” a tear fell on my cheek but I wiped it before he could see it.

To Raff: (4:00 pm Wednesday) Hey, where are you? We’re worried here.

Please answer to me Raff. I know you can receive my messages.

Raff come on, I’m sorry. Just please. Your mom is worried-sick about you.

(5:00 pm Wednesday) I want to tell you something. I’ll meet you at the parking lot in school. I’ll be there at seven. I’ll wait for you there.

Am I really ready to tell him everything? Can I really trust him? I’ll find out later. All I have to do now is to get ready for tonight. I went home and asked my nanny (she’s been my nanny since I was a kid) if mom is at home by this time.

“She didn’t get home yet. Maybe you could just start to eat now because she said that she’ll be late tonight. I already served your dinner.” She explained to me.

“Thanks. But maybe I’ll have it later.”

“Whatever you want. So how’s school?” nanny Bertha asked.

“I’m doing fine with it. Nanny, can I ask you something?”

“What is it?”

“What if you’ll wait for someone tonight and that person will not show up, what does it mean?”

“Maybe something happened or that person isn’t really interested.”

“Thanks nanny. I’ve got to go. Bye!” I rushed outside and immediately went into my car. I started it but it won’t start. I checked the fuel meter and hellya, it’s empty. Now I have to use my dad’s car but has a driver with me. Mom wouldn’t allow me to use dad’s Lamborghini.

“Where are we going ma’am?”

“At school. Drop me at the parking lot.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

The ride was silent until I got dropped at the parking lot.

“Ma’am, will I wait for you?”

“No. I’ll just call Nanny Bertha if be going home.” I  told the driver and he went off.

I checked the time; I’m five minutes earlier than the time that I was supposed to be waiting. I stood near the light so that if ever he arrived he’ll see me straightaway.  I saw students and some of them recognized me.

“Kyen Grandé, right?”

“Um, yeah, it’s me, and you are?”

“Jeanine Guzman.” She reached her hands for a shake.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Jeanine.” I accepted her hand and shook it nicely.

“You can call me Jean.”

“Yeah, sure.” I smiled at her.

“By the way, what are you doing here? It’s already dismissal.”

“Yeah, I know. I’m waiting for someone.”

“I see. Well, I have to go. Nice meeting you again.” She said and went off.

I checked the time and saw that it’s already quarter to 8:00 and he’s still not here. I let another five minutes past but still, he isn’t here yet.

“Maybe he’s not coming.” I said to myself, “I better go home.” I dialed the telephone’s number at home and nanny answered it.

“This is Grandé Residence.”

“Nanny, it’s me, Kyen. Kindly tell the driver to pick me up.”

“Okay, just wait there okay?” then she hanged up.

Not a minute passed, the rain started to pour down. And I couldn’t see a nearest shed to keep me from freezing. I ran towards my left and saw a light. As it got near I recognize it’s a car. And thank God it instantly halted.
