Pin drop silence was all I heard in the Cullen's household. That was the only reaction she got when she dropped the bomb on the Cullens. 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 sec.....Suddenly "Bwah ha ha! Edward I love her! She's hilarious!" Emmett laughed. "Emmett" Esme scolded. "It's okay Mrs... erm Esme. Emmett I assure you I'm not joking. I'm sure you all have many questions about this. How about we move this somewhere else?" I asked. "Yeah sure. Let's all move to the dining room " Carlisle said while smiling assuringly at me.

I looked at everyone while we settled in the dining room. Carlisle and Alice looked excited at the thought of learning something new, whereas Esme and Jasper looked mild curious. Emmett seemed completely giddy like a toddler. Even Rosalie seemed well... not mad. Lastly I looked at Edward. He had kept his face oddly emotionless but thankfully he did not seem distrustful or hostile. I would have to talk to Edward privately after this conversation. I took a deep breath and started.

"First off I was born on 19 September 1987 to Richard and Jean Granger, dentist by profession- normal muggles for wizards." "What's a muggle?" Carlisle asked. "It's the term used for ordinary people those born without no magical parents. Which makes me a Muggle born or a Mudblood." I spat. "Wizards and witches like Circe and Merlin have really existed throughout times. Somewhere during the end of 10th century or the beginning of 11th century two wizards and two witches named Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw and Helga Hufflepuff decided to open a school for young wizards and witches named Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." She ignored the  sniggers and chuckles of Cullen's at hearing the names. It wasn't as though she hadn't done the same when Professor McGongall had told them the name of the school. "They built the school from scratch. Walls the undergrounds, towers, courtyard, etc. It was an electic style that blended to create massive castle that houses the school. It sits on the hillside in the highlands of Scotland hidden from prying eyes by a fantastic array of concealment charms. You wouldn't know it was there even if you were peering through castle gates. Once done the four of them scoured Great Britain looking for students. It wasn't always easy. They were met with a lot of resistance from the Muggleborns and their parents. It was a whole other story for purebloods- those born from wizarding families, their children were given a place at Hogwarts since their birth. " But if the school was barely started wasn't it difficult to enroll students?" Carlisle inquired. "For that the founders created The Quill of Acceptance and the Book of Admittance.  The quill would magically write the names of children who were born with magic. The book was probably created by Salzar Slytherin as it only included children who displayed magic accidentally. The book did not include squibs." Before anyone could question she added "Squibs are non magical children born to magical parents. The founders worked together in harmony for many years before there was a fallout between Salzar Slytherin and the other founders as he was against teaching magic to the..." "Let me guess Muggleborns?" Rosalie asked.

"Yes. Books say that Gryffindor and Slytherin had a duel and the latter was defeated thus he was forced to leave Hogwarts. But before leaving he built a secret chamber with a monster inside it and prophesied that only a Heir of Slytherin could open it. Once it was opened the monster would erase everyone in the castle who were unworthy of studying magic." "Was the Chamber opened" Emmett asked. "Yes. And that too twice." Hermione shivered remembering the glowing eyes of the basilisk. "But who would do such a thing?" Esme asked with anger. "A Heir of Slytherin, it was prophesied" Alice replied. "The school prospered after Salzar's departure. In 1869, the International statute of Secrecy was laid down and all the magical beings went into hiding." "What kind of beings?" Emmett asked curiously. "Will you let the girl speak Emmett?" Rosalie asked angrily. "But Rose....." Emmett started...
"It's okay. It includes usual kinds of beings like fairies, gnomes, owls, Cornish pixies, goblins, werewolves, dragons..."
" Can I have a...." Emmett had just started and was met with "No" from each and every member of the family. He pouted.

Hermione gave a small laugh and continued her story. "Even though the wizarding world was on a good start it did not stop madmen from rising. One of such was Voldemort. He was on of the people who tried to find ways to cheat death. "People can't cheat death. It seems impossible." Carlisle pondered. "Carlisle you're a vampire" Hermione replied. "There are many ways to cheat death. Voldemort opted for the most horrifying one. He killed. And with each kill, he split his soul into 7 parts." Everyone grimaced. "He was so obsessed with his quest for power and immortality that he didn't even care about his own followers and killed them without regret" she said it with pain in her voice and the wound of Snape's death was still fresh. She almost broke down thinking of all the deaths she had witnessed as they played like a casset in her mind. Edward's eyes widened seeing all those memories. Hermione felt his hand sliding into hers. She looked at him with raised eyebrows and he only gave her an encouraging smile in return. She took a deep breath and started telling the adventures she had since she had been eleven.

Edward's POV:

Edward wasn't really surprised that Hermione had complete attention of his family. To him she had always been captivating. He was happy to know that Hermione had finally completely opened herself. He took in every word every expression of hers. Edward understood that in a duration if few hours Hermione had managed to gain positive opinion of everyone in his family including Rosalie. He listened to all the struggles she has been through and wished that be could have been there for her. He realised that Harry Potter was one of the most important people in her life but still he had begun to loathe that troublesome bastard who had gotten Hermione into heaps of trouble. But he realised that it wasn't like her to leave her friends behind. If she did she wouldn't have become the Hermione Granger he had fallen in love with. Yes. In love. He had fallen in love with this strong, brave, independent and intelligent girl.  Maybe he was being selfish and moving on to fast but he didn't care. He followed each and every movement of her, how her eyes glowed when she spoke of her friends, how she became it bit nostalgic when she spoke of her parents and how she hated how badly the wizarding world had been treating others. Hermione Granger was a hell of a passionate women and he was going to do everything he could to keep her happy.

Hermione's POV:

"And that's how I got here. You all are Edward's family and your opinion matters a lot to me. I need to know if you can accept me. Usually Hermione Granger wouldn't care about people accepting her. But this is Edward we are talking about and she really wanted him for a long ride. "What kind of an idiotic question is that?Hell wicked witch things are gonna me so much fun with you around." Emmett said giving her a bear hug.
"Well I don't feel the constant urge to rip out you're throat, so I guess we're on good terms" Jasper said.
"Even though we will never be close and I can assure you that, you can stand on your own feet, so I'll try not to bug Edward too much about choosing you" Rosalie smirked. Hermione took that as a yes.
"I can't really see the future now that you are here but I think you'll be a good sister. At least better than Rosalie" Alice said winking at me. I looked at Carlisle.
"Welcome to the family Hermione" he said while Esme just kissed my forehead. "Edward can I see you out for a minute?" She asked. "Sure" he replied. Hermione took his hand and led him a few miles away from the house.

They walked for a while in silence. "Edward I...."  "I love you" Edward interupted. For the first time in her life Hermione Granger was speechless. "I love you Hermione Granger, witch or not. And nothing in the world will ever change that" he promised. "But..." she struggled to find words. "Yes my love?" he encouraged. "What if Bella comes back and you change your mind. I mean you have history. She's your first love." Hermione was ashamed of this display of insecurity but she had to sure.
"Honestly at this point I would rather have a day with you than forever with her" he said with conviction.
"That's cheesy"
"But true. She might be my first love but you sure are gonna be the last."
"What if you get bored of me?" Hermione asked.
"Bored of the girl, whose life has been an adventure since she was 11. Not likely" he rolled his eyes. "And there is more chance of you being bored with me than me with you".
"Challenge accepted. Oh and for the record I love you too." Hermione said while bringing her lips to his. Oh she was in this for a very long run.
