Edward's POV:
She looked spectacular - My lady in Red. The bodice of her dress clunged perfectly to her body and skirt just falling of her hips. Her red killer heels went along perfectly giving her walk more of a feminine twirl. Her hair was done up in a sport he had never seen before but she carried it if like every other factor she was carrying, with poise and grace. Few of her curls escaped and framed her perfect heart shaped face. Her neckline was teasing him in such a manner that he wanted nothing but to grab her and place kisses of the juncture that connected her neck and shoulder. He mentally chided himself for having thoughts that no well bred gentleman should have about a respectable lady. Well this certainly was going to be hell of a night!
Hermione's POV:
The decorations were nothing compared to the Yule Ball in her fourth year, but they were definitely good for muggle standard. She entered with her arm in Edward's and looked around trying to spot Angela and Jessica. "Hey girls." She said smiling at them. "Wow you both look beautiful" she said. "Us? Mya you look like a blooming rose." Angela said good naturally. "Ladies if you don't mind, I would like to dance with my lovely date" Edward said smiling charmingly. She swore that of possible Jessica and Angela would have actually melted into a puddle! "Sure......er, yes we mean" Jessica stuttered. Hermione controlled her giggle looking at Jessica stuttering was definitely funny. "My stunning lady, may I have this dance?" Edward asked. "Why not kind sir" I replied placing my arm in the crook of his elbow. We danced in symphony for I don't know how long. He twirled and spun and dipped me so many times that I lost its count. Every time I squealed and giggled like a little girl. God it felt so good to be a normal teenager and dance with someone normal for once ( Well that depends on your criteria for normal. Surely a vampire and a witch dancing at prom wouldn't be that weird?) It was nice not having to constantly worry about your life and that of your loved once. "Oh come on, give us a chance will you? How long are you gonna dance together?" Jessica said winking at me. I laughed and let Edward lead her to the floor. Mike suddenly appeared out of nowhere and aked me to dance. I didn't want to say no to him (Hey I truly didn't but my heels were killing me). "Sorry Mike but I think I'll call it a night" I said. "Do you want me to take you home. I won't mind" he persisted. "Mike I don't think Jessica would like that. And she's my friend. I can't ask you to do that." I said firmly. "Yeah, you're right. I should just, I'll leave" he said and finally went away. ( Thank the gods). I removed my heels and walked towards the ground. I let the wet grass touch my feet. It felt soothing to my sore legs. "Now how did I know I would find you here" Edward said coming from behind. "Because maybe you wanted to find me?" I said lovingly. "One last dance?" he asked. "Aren't you tired?" I asked (Out of formality obviously) it's not like he would feel tired or something. "Not a bit, but you must be. Oh I'm sorry how inconsiderate of me. Let's get you home" he said suddenly. "Nope. But let's have a last dance. Just let me wear my shoes" I said. "No need. Just step on my feet."
"Surely you can't be that strong"I laughed.
"Oh you wanna bet?"
"I guess I do" I said stepping on his feet.
We danced to a slow song while gazing into each other's eyes. "It's dark" he said breaking the silence.
"I like dark" I said gently.
"You do?" he seemed genuinely suprised.
"Yes, without the night we would never see the stars."
"Hmmm. I could get used to this" he said brightening up.
"What you lugging me around?"
He laughed but suddenly stopped and became serious. "Nope. You, here, tucked in my arms."
I craned my neck and looked into his eyes. "I think I won." He said smugly. "Won what?" I wondered. "The bet, of me being strong. Now time for me to win the prize." He said softly.
"What prize?" I almost whispered.
"This"
He leaned down and gently pressed his lips on mine. Never in my short life had I ever been kissed like this, it felt like a promise, a promise that he would hold on to me. Forever. I had no idea what would happen in future, an immortal vampire and an destructable witch, but whatever would happen I knew that we would be in this, together.
