Chapter 11 – Truth Be Told
It sucked, knowing that I had to pretend that I'm on Lea’s side. After all she is my sister, but she did do the wrong thing. After our parents had come back from their little get-a-way I was unfortunately forced to go back home.
Lea had been really cautious of me ever since, most probably thinking that Chase and I had formed an unbreakable bond, which in actual fact we did, but way before this mess occurred.
Apparently they had planned to apologize and talk to Chase the day that our parents had come back from their holiday but Chase had ended up ignoring the both of them like a plague.
Lea constantly nags me about Chase’s attitude, which I respond with an unenthusiastic grunt. It is super awkward when they sit there and talk smack about him. Either way I think it’s wrong for Greg to sit there and talk about his only brother that way. Like buddy, you’re the idiot who ruined it all not him.
Personally, I just don’t understand why they didn’t say something in the first place. It would have caused less drama if they both manned up and just told Chase that they have feelings for each other, and didn’t want to go behind his back.
Yeah sure, it may seems slightly hypocritical of me to say that, but until recently I had kept my feelings at bay, I never advanced and neither did Chase. It was just getting way to difficult and we slipped. It’s not like we have been cheating behind Lea’s back for ages.
Chase had decided that he wanted to be as far away from everyone but me as possible, so he is currently staying at a close friend’s house, telling his parents that they have a project due together that was extremely difficult and wanted to spend as much time finishing it off as fast as possible.
It wasn’t a complete lie; they did have a project together, but it was that hard.
So that’s how I ended up laying across Chase’s lap on the couch, watching a game of football while his friend Josh, as he sat on the couch opposite us.
They were both yelling and screaming at the TV, telling each player what they did right and wrong downing a few beers while I lay here, bored out of my brains.
Like, don’t get me wrong I love spending time with my soon to be boyfriend, but watching a game of football isn’t exactly how I would love to spend it.
“Hey Babe, do you think you could get me another beer?” Chase asked, his eyes glued to the TV.
My mouth fell open in shock, and I hit him across the head.
“Ouch! What the hell!?” Chase glared at me.
“Get your own beer!” I exclaimed, raising my hands up in the air.
Chase chuckled, and literally pushed me off his lap so that I landed on the floor with a thud.
“Sure thing Honey” he smirked as Josh started to laugh at his best-friends stupid ass joke.
“Stuff you, I'm out” I said, and picked up my stuff and headed for the front door.
“You're joking right?” Chase said, as he followed after me.
“Nope” I replied simply as I walked through the door.
“Babe, I was kidding!” he yelled after me.
I flipped him the bird while sticking my tongue out at him. His laughter boomed, as he started to run after me. I ignored him and continued to walk home. Hands slipped around my waist pushing me backwards into his chest.
