I woke up shaking and sweating. My mouth was dry. I didn't really understand the dream but i was still scared. When I thought about the figure dressed in black i got an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I know i shouldn't be scared. I mean it's just a dream. Right?
I'm really thirsty so I get out of bed to go downstairs. As I'm getting up I hear a creak and what sounds like footsteps downstairs. I live on my own because I'm out of school. So there's no one in the house. I slowly walk to my closet and grab my hot pink baseball bat. Thank the Lord i played softball in High school! I slowly crept down the stairs. Skipping the steps that creak.
When I get down there I quietly check the whole house but nobody's there. I walk past the living room but quickly stop. I felt a cold breeze coming from my living room window. I look over and it's opened. I never opened the window because it's the middle of winter so it's cold. I walk over to it and peer out. On the ground in the snow are men's boot prints leading out my window into the woods. I quickly close the window and turn on my house alarm. The glass of water forgotten i walk upstairs and into my room. I lay in bed and try to sleep. But the dream and someone breaking into my house cloud my mind. I'm scared and worried. After several hours i finally fall asleep. My dreams are haunted by the figure in black.
