Chapter Two!
The next day Peter had returned to Paris with his trusty video camera, he was ready to stalk Erik and Charles once again. After he had seen his Father with the Professor he had returned to his Mom's basement, his Mom had been happy to see him. He had told her everything that had happened between him and Erik after the Jean Grey incident, she hadn't been too thrilled about him connecting with his Father though. Peter knew everything that had happened between Erik and his Mom before he was born, he understood why she was worried about him. The past romance between his parents had been brief and passionate, but his Father's jealously had ended up killing an innocent man in the process. But he reassured his Mom that everything would be okay, she had his word that he would returned home to her every day until he returned back to the school.
Peter had followed Erik back to the hotel he was staying in before he returned to his basement, he had found out Erik's room number and the floor the room was located on. He planned on checking out Erik's hotel room, he wanted to see what belongings his Father owned. He wanted to know everything about him, his curiosity was getting the better of him once again. It had happened more than once, he had read the personal files Charles kept in his office about Erik's past.
Arriving early at the Hôtel Elysées Union Peter stood outside of the entrance of the hotel, he looked up at the building and marveled at his it's structure. It only had six floors but it's height was very impressive, it reminded him of a mini skyscraper. There was no Doorman on the door which was a bonus, he would be able to get inside without any questions being asked. He took a deep breath before he entered the building, there wasn't many people around since it was early. The lobby of the hotel was very luxurious, he felt out of place in this hotel. The colour scheme of red and gold made the place look extra expensive, he wasn't use to being in places like this because he was a simple man.
Looking around the lobby he spotted the reception desk, there was a female receptionist on the phone. Pulling his goggles over his eyes time slowed down for him, he glanced at man sitting at the bar before he zoomed over to the desk. He drummed his finger tips against the desktop top while he checked out the hotel key slots behind the desk, he soon spotted the room number he needed. Jumping over the desk Peter grabbed the spare set of keys from his Father's room slot before he sped towards the staircase, he was ready to explore the hotel. Maneuvering himself around the hotel guests Peter zoomed up the six flights of stairs, he soon stopped near some double doors that led to the corridor where Erik was located. He peered through the door's window and counted the room numbers inside of his head, he soon spotted Erik's hotel room's door.
" Room forty-three, here I come." Peter muttered.
Peter glanced over his shoulder before he pushed the double doors open, he then hurried down the corridor. His sneakers squeaked with each footstep he took, he counted the door numbers inside of his head. He looked at each door in turn until he reached room forty-three, he took the keys from his pocket and unlocked the door. The door creaked while he slowly opened it, he peered into the room and entered it. He could hear the shower from the bathroom, it seemed like Erik was awake. He crept inside the hotel room and closed the door quietly behind him, he had a few minutes to snoop around before Erik finished using the bathroom. Switching his video camera on he began his little tour of the room, he swung his camera from left to right. He didn't want to miss anything, he was in snooping mode. The room was tidy and clean, Erik's clothes were neatly folded on the end of the bed. There was a trolley of breakfast near the open window and a pair of shoes by a chair, his Father was very organised. He zoomed over to the food trolley and helped himself to a bowl of fruit, he was hungry.
There were waffles with syrup and blueberry muffins, a jug of freshly squeezed orange juice. A bowl of fruit and three buttery croissants, there was also a cup of hot coffee. He immediately took one of the waffles from the plate and took a massive bite out of it, the sweet syrup dripped down his chin while picked the coffee cup from it's saucer. Peter took a sip of the coffee while his gaze lingered on the view from the window, he could see many rooftops from the hotel room. The sky was blue and he could see an aircraft flying across the sky, it looked like it was going to be another beautiful day in Paris. He couldn't help but admire the view while he ate most of Erik's breakfast, he needed the energy boost. Placing the cup back on it's saucer he accidentally knocked over the jug of orange juice with his elbow, he gasped when everything on the trolley clinked and clunked together. He swore under his breath while he tried to fix the mess he had just created, he kind of made it worse. He knocked cutlery from the trolley and an apple rolled across the floor, he'd seriously screwed up.
" Who's there?!"
Peter froze when he heard Erik's voice coming from the bathroom, he had to think fast. His attention was soon drawn to the bathroom's door when he heard the shower being turned off, it wasn't long until he heard Erik's voice once again. Peter panicked and pushed the trolley away from the window while he wiped some syrup away from his chin with a napkin, he cleared his throat and mimicked a French woman's voice.
" Bonjour Monsieur, this is... erm!" Peter replied, he headed towards the window and hooked the curtains over some hooks. " This is room service!"
" I ordered no room service!"
" Putain, j'ai foutu!" Peter yelled.
" I BEG YOUR PARDON?!"
" Au revoir monsieur, désolé!" Peter said.
Peter cringed at Erik's raised voice, he had basically just swore at him in French. He was terrible at remembering foreign languages, he should have listened more in the language class the Professor use to teach at Xavier's School. But he always ended up falling asleep in that class, he could never keep awake because it bored him. He looked down at the street below the window, he was six floors up but he could get down easily if he used his mutant ability. He looked over his shoulder when he heard the bathroom's door unlock, he knew Erik was about to discover the mess he had just created in his hotel room.
Time slowed down for Peter while he backed away from the open window, he took a deep breath before he ventured forward. The room around him whizzed passed his eyes while he zoomed towards the window, he used his foot to launch himself up from the window's balcony rail. He felt himself elevating upwards towards the building above the window, he kept moving his feet until they made contact with the building's wall. He then zoomed along the side of the building and headed towards the ground, his feet soon made contact with the sidewalk. But he kept on running, he couldn't exactly stop outside of the hotel in case Erik saw him from the hotel window. He maneuvered himself around the people on the sidewalk, he didn't stop until he reached an empty alleyway. He leaned back against the wall and checked his video camera, it was still recording. He switched his video camera off before he took a candy bar from his jacket's pocket, he thought about what had just happened at the hotel. His snooping around had caused a lot of damage, he was going to have to rethink his stalking methods through in the future.
