Author's POV

Life is a roller coaster. So unpredictable. Sometimes things come suddenly, and it's like a big jump. But, then you have to adjust, and sometimes it takes time. Ups and downs. Twists and turns. At one moment you are smiling and in the next you shed uncontrollable tears. It's a circle of emotions where sometimes, unexpected happiness knocks your door while the other time, agony is always at your trail. It's an uphill of wonder and downhill of doubt. It's impossible understand it.

And, for her, life has not been less than a roller coaster ride with some moments too magical to take a hike down the memory lane like being topper almost in every academic session just to see her parent's eyes shining in pride, their Sunday outing with long walks on Juhu beach, getting into desired college, meeting Aarish and loving him, running into Kaaki, and above all, giving birth to her son.

If these are not sweet moments, then what is?!

But there are bitter ones too which are better left buried deep under the ground, where she lost everything at once.

And, when she looked in present, everything is becoming glorious again. With a seat in medical college in her grasp, her son healthy and adorable as always and the love of her life lying right beside her, everything seemed to be in place, again.

She is too happy. It's been long that her heart felt this elated and calm at the same time. She wants to take a hold of it and never let go, wanting to keep this moment bound to her, for forever. She knows forever is an illusion but trying to keep up with it, is not.

Yes, she feels scared too. There's a fear, fear of being up so high and the possibility of crashing down.

But, she can't spend her life in fear of the possibilities. Our contemplation won't stop them from happening. If things are bound to happen, they will. So, why tire your brain over something that is not in your hands?

So, it's better to leave past to past and future to future. Present is what matters.

Sighing, she reposed her head in palm while her elbow rested on the mattress. With her free hand she started tracing the lines of his face, the bridge of his nose, the smooth angles of his cheekbones and his sharp jaw with its coarse stubble and the puffiness around his eyes where the velvet lashes laid like crescents against his skin.
