Author's POV"Hi Vyan, I'm your dad" Aarish said looking at his son. His voice heavy with emotions and eyes glossy. His heart started beating at a faster rate because of holding his son in his arms for the first time. Vyan's little body perfectly fitted in his dad's large frame giving a sense of protection warmth.
Vyan was looking at his lips as Aarish was speaking, then his eyes as if assessing him. This was the first time he was in the arms of a man and it was quite different for him. Mostly he is surrounded by the two ladies in the house.
"You are my baby" he said more to himself. It was a very new feeling to him. The feeling of being a father to this little boy.
Vyan felt so good in his arms, so light and soft.
He never planned for a baby this early. Even with Mishka, he thought of having a child in his mid 30s. So he should be panic, disappointed, terrified, right? But no, there was a feeling of contentment, like he has achieved the most important thing in his life. His mind was somehow at peace.
Waves of devotion swept through him as he silently promised him that he would always be there for him, would always love him, would be the best father he could possibly be.
On the other hand, Mishka could not control her tears. To say she hasn't dreamt about this day—this moment—would be a lie. She has. A thousand times.
They looked so perfect together.
Whenever she saw any kid with their father, she wished to have the same for her son. She always wanted Vyan to have the love of his dad. She is not selfish to keep them apart because of their circumstances because she knows how it feels in the absence of a father. She has went through that stage and still going on.
"He is so handsome" Aarish said looking at Vyan with awe.
"He is" Mishka nodded, wiping her tears.
Aarish raised his hand and stroked his soft cheeks. It felt like cotton ball under his calloused finger. "And so soft"
Vyan's eyes caught shiningnes of his Rolex watch and he formed an o with his mouth pointing at it with his small finger.
Aarish followed his gaze and chuckled when he found his son looking at his watch with wonder.
"He likes watches?" Aarish asked as Vyan held the dial in his palm.
"No, actually he likes anything which shines"
