It was pretty awkward first, since no one was talking. We sat on the grass under the nightsky in silence.
,,You know, this feeling to feel like you're not welcome, it feels horrible, doesn't it?" He began in his soft and calm voice.
,,It does." I quietly replied. ,,But maybe one day you'll find someone with who you'll feel like home." I smiled a little at the thought, my voice still soft and quiet.
,,I don't think so. Love doesn't exist." He replied and I turned my head to look at him. He was looking into the dark distance, deep in thoughts.
,,I know." I replied softly and he turned his head to me. His blue-grey eyes were looking in mine in the dark. For a second, it felt like it was just the two of us until he decided to turn back to the front, which I did too.
,,I've felt that way quite most often and then I always think-" he stopped himself as he realized he was literally talking about his feelings with a girl he despises.
,,What?" I asked, assuring him I'm listening.
,,Nothing." His soft voice turned cold.
,,You can tell me."
,,Just as I said, I'm not sitting with you by choice." He rolled his eyes and I got offended a little. Which doesn't even make sense, cause I hate him.
I stood up and brushed the dust off my dress. I turned around and began walking back to the entrance.
,,Where are you going?" He asked me, his head turned to me.
,,Somewhere where I don't have a bleach blonde ferret in sight." I said on purpose and continued walking, knowing too well it provoked him.
Before I could even enter, I felt his hands on my waist, pulling me back harshly.
,,Get your hands off me!' I said, pushing him away a little. He glanced at me fiercly.,,Care to repeat?"
,,What?" I acted oblivious.
,,You're unbelievable." He commented and bumped his shoulder against mine intentionally as he passed by, walking inside before me. I huffed and walked behind him, back to the main hall.
,,Oh, there they are." I heard and we stopped. My parents, his parents, Sally and her parents were all standing in front of the enormous entrance of the main hall, now looking at the two of us.
,,Draco, (y/n), would you come, please?" Sally's mother, mrs. Hartley said. We walked to them unhurried.
,,Are we going back?" I asked, hiding the joy in my voice. I was eager to go back and never remember this day.
,,Um, no." She said and my joyful face dropped. Draco looked at her confused, raising a brow.
,,What do you mean 'no'?" He asked.
,,Draco, you're staying!" Sally said happily and smiled widely. ,,Oh, and you too." She eyed me with less joy.
,,But we have classes tomorrow." I tried to find an excuse. ,,I don't wanna be behind on my first lessons." I argued.
,,Snape gave us the permission, we asked. It will be no problem." Lucius replied.
,,Mother." I said, looking at her with hope.
,,Behave, (y/n). What's gotten into you. I haven't seen you like this since the death of-" she stopped herself before she could finish. I looked at her, my eyes widening and tearing a little. How dare she. Draco looked at me, looking for a reaction and if possible answers. ,,Well." She cleared her throat after a short and awkward silence. ,,You'll go back to Hogwarts after spending two nights here." She said a little more quiet. ,,We'll go now. Have a nice time." She took my father's arm and they left quietly, Lucius and Narcissa following behind them after looking at the two of us. Sally's parents walked off either. They told us they would go back to the guests. It was just the three of us now.
,,Well, whatever that was." She made an unfunny joke, waiting for Draco to laugh along, but he wouldn't budge. He was looking at me as my eyes were locked on the floor. I was looking rather unpleased, my chest going up and down in a somewhat quick pace as my eyes were basically piercing the floor. I gulped thickly.
,,I'll have to show you the guest rooms first. There you'll be staying." Sally said and I tried to ignore what my mother had said, shaking my head yes. Her eyes were glued on me for a few seconds until Draco began to walk.
,,Alright then, show us." He said, trying to break the thick tension.
Sally smiled and took his arm. They walked as I trailed behind lazily. From the corner of my eye I caught Draco look back at me for a brief second, but he turned around again.
After a long time of walking, we stopped in a hallway. It had two black doors, each opposite the other.
,,You'll stay here, Draco." She opened his door. ,,Oh, and you there." Sally told me as she looked at me from Draco's door. She'd forgotten about me.
,,Thanks." I said and turned the door knob. I was annoyed at her attitude. She was fond of Draco, it was quite obvious.
The sight of my stuff on the bed interrupted my thoughts. My parents must have brought them here. I sat down on my bed exhaustedly and took some comfortable clothes. I was relieved. Finally out of this dress. I dressed up and took my novel. I placed it on my bed to read it later. As I came out of the door, suprisingly, Draco and Sally did too. They came out of Draco's together.
,,If you need anything, my room is near the main hall." She rolled her hair around her finger and looked him up and down.
,,Yeah." Draco said uninterestedly. His bored expression changed into an unreadable one as he saw me. I couldn't put my finger on it. I shook my head as in 'what?'
,,Let's go eat something now." Sally said overjoyed and energetically as she took Draco's hand. And just like before, they walked ahead.
We arrived in their kitchen and she sat Draco down. She herself walked somewhere else to look what food she could serve. I sat at the opposite side of Draco. He was staring at me the whole time.
,,What?" I mouthed annoyedly as I looked at him. His concerned expression turned into an annoyed one.
,,Draco." Sally called and he turned his head to her. She asked him what he wanted as I was still staring at Draco, realizing how handsome he actually was.
After eating, we stood up and Sally kissed Draco's cheek as a 'nice gesture' before walking the opposite way to her room. She closed her door and we began to walk back.
,,(y/l/n)." Draco began after a long silence.
,,Hm" I raised my head, leaving my thoughts.
,,Um, previously-uh" He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. ,,Forget about it." He said and went silent again.
,,Finish your sentences, Draco." I told him, but he ignored me.
I debated wether to whish him a goodnight or not, but the problem was solved as he walked into his room without saying a word. I stood in front of mine awkwardly, staring at his closed black door. I sighed, opening my door. Just as I closed mine, I heard his open, but close again. I wondered why he did that, but shrugged it off eventually.
I hopped on my bed, grabbing my book. I don't think I'll be able to sleep this night.
