My Warrior

I knew I loved you before I met you
The day I found out about your presence, time just flew
The emotions I felt are inexplicable
The joy I received, so indescribable

Even then, you were considerate
No problems, no pain, to see you,  made me desperate
Finally, the day I anticipated, came
From then on, life would never be, the same

In times in trauma and stress, you proved your strength
That for the ones you love, you will go to any length
At times you are my savior
Those times, you become a warrior

You stand for what is right
Though this makes you shine outright, you sometimes give me a fright
Stubborn and 'angry young man' you may be
I really can't complain, you came out like me

At times, we are alike in so many ways
Other times, our differences, stays
You may think I don't, but be assured, I notice, how you are
I am so grateful for everything you do, by far

Proud I am of you, in every way
I really don't care what anyone else has to say
My warrior, my saviour, my child, of you, I am so proud
To the world, I can stand and shout out loud!
