ok but she looks so pretty in this pic. and for what.
[Y/N POV]
I really didn't want to leave. This would be my second time moving, first out of state. I knew what I would be leaving behind, my friends, my school, the town I grew up in. I closed the folds on the last box of my things. I had about 5 boxes in total, each of different things. The one I just closed was my clothes, it was marked with a messily written purple label, as were all of my boxes.
I sat on my carpeted floor, digging my hands into the carpet. I stared up at my white wavy painted ceiling. Other kids would probably be happy to move out of this dump of a town but in reality, I was going to miss it a lot. I shifted my stance and began to tie my multicolored shoes, messing up the beads on the laces. I stood again and looked out of my window to the empty backyard for the last time.
I turned on my heels and walked out of my room to the bare living room. Its light grey walls basically bouncing the sunlight. I pulled up my hood and tucked my hair (ignore this bit if you don't have hair) in as my mom walked over to me. "Are you heading out one last time?", she asked, a smile adorned her sweaty face. I guess she was still moving her boxes out to the truck. I nodded, "I just want to go to the park one last time". "Actually-", my dad spoke, my mom cut him off. "Have fun, we'll pick you up by the gas station", a sad smile adorned her face as she grazed her hand on my shoulder, passing by me to get to the other rooms.
I stepped away from the dark green front door, almost smacking into the glass door in front of it. Making my way down the road to the busy main street I put my earbuds in my ears, turning on some classics from the '90s. I really wish I was born then, everything seemed so much cooler. I hummed the songs to myself as I made my way past rite-aid and to the park behind the old pizza place. I crossed over the dark brown wood chips and sat on the old rusty metal and plastic swing. The pavilion sat empty like it did most days. The sky fit my mood as it was a musty gray, warning for the rain to come. I barely pushed myself on the old swing, moving ever so slightly forward. I contemplated going to the river but decided against it. It would be too difficult to call my mom and tell her to pick me up there.
Time flew as the sky got darker and the clouds more dense. The crunching of heavy tires was barely heard beneath my loud music. I turned to look at the parking lot. My mom's dark FBI-looking truck was positioned facing me. I hopped off of the swing and made my way to the car. Pulling the door open I climbed in and plugged my seatbelt into the slot. I could tell my mom saw my gloom on my face as she spoke in a soft tone, looking back at me, "You'll see your friends at the park". "I know I'll just miss them so much", I decided to put in my earbuds as my brother began to scream about something I wasn't interested in. We had planned to meet my friends at a park near my grandparent's house for our final goodbyes.
We approached the park, it looked like it was going to rain even more now, I guess this state really does reflect my mood. I spotted my friends standing by a pavilion, well all except one person. Emma, I didn't know if she was late or if she wasn't coming. Hopping out of the car I ran over to the three, jumping on them and pulling them into a hug. The group consisted of Quinn, Milo, and Isabella. All of them I had known for a while now. Quinn I've known for my whole life, Bella I've known since 2nd grand and Milo since 6th. Currently, Izzy and I were going to be sophomores, Quinn and Milo were freshmen to be. "(Y/N) I'M GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH", Isabella yelled, hugging me with all of her strength. "Same tho", Quinn said gruffly, doing the same. Milo just sniffled, not wanting to talk. "HEY DON'T FORGET ABOUT ME", I heard Emma's voice call as she ran up to us, jumping into the hug as well. Our bodies couldn't take the weight of everyone and we toppled over into a big pile of laughter.
We rolled apart and laid there, just enjoying our final silence together. "After today you're gonna be miles away from us", Milo spoke, finally saying something. "I'll be back to visit, I promise", I spoke standing. I reached out my arm to help her up. It went like a chain as everyone else stood. We all hugged for a final time and I solemnly walked back to my car. I put in my earbud and looked out my window at my friends. They started to get out of view as the truck was put into drive. My eyes teared up as I turned the classical music up on my wired buds. This was going to be a long ride.
