Miranda woke up the next morning with Ben snuggled into her neck and his hand was on her thigh rubbing circles into it.
"How long have you been up?" Miranda mumbled.
"Not that long. I just didn't want to wake you." He responded.
"Thank you. Do you want to order breakfast? I can have my intern order us some." Miranda said turning a little.
"Don't worry him. I could go get us something."
"He isn't worried. He is use to it and I let him treat himself as well with my card." Miranda informed.
"Okay, but I still don't mind getting up." He mumbled into her neck with his eyes closed.
His breath tickled her neck and sent a shiver down her spine.
"Hey mom-" Tuck shouted before pausing seeing her in bed with a man.
Tucker cleared his throat in an annoyed manner and Miranda shot up.
"Ouch." she groaned grabbing her side and Ben sat up holding her in place.
"You okay." Ben asked eyeing her touching her side.
"I'm fine just turned and sat up to fast." She mumbled.
"Hi my sweet boy." Miranda sung smiling at him.
"Ben this is my son William and his father Tucker. Tuck and Tucker this is Ben." Miranda said introducing them all.
She watched as the three guys all nodded at each other.
Ben slid out of bed and put on his shoes.
"It was nice meeting you both I'm going to grab our breakfast does anybody want anything." He asked.
"I’m fine." Tucker grumbled out.
"Something to drink." Tuck added.
"There is a vending machine around the corner." Tucker snapped.
"Its fine, I don’t mind getting you something to drink. Is there a preference."
"Orange juice." He answered.
"Okay great."
"Ben, I want pancakes, scrambled eggs with bacon and grits." Miranda said turning to him.
"Okay I will be back in about 20 minutes." Ben responded kissing her forehead causing Miranda to blush as he walked out.
"Who is that Mandy?" Tucker as pointedly.
"He's Ben." Miranda sneered knowing it would upset him.
"How long have you been seeing him. You all looked cozy." Tucker said crossing his arms.
"I don't have to answer any of your questions and quite frankly it's none of your business." Miranda said rolling her eyes.
"Miranda just tell me -"
"How about Miranda how are you or how are you feeling? I know you just got out of a coma from a bad car accident. And not questions about my personal life." Miranda replied irritated.
"Sorry Mandy. How are you?" Tucker asked nonchalantly.
"Fine... thank you."
"When do you get out of here mom?" Tuck asked.
"Monday hopefully."
"Are you going to listen to your doctor?" Tuck chuckled.
"I’m a physician anything other than Monday is unreasonable." Miranda laughed then her face contorted.
"What's wrong ma?"
"Oh it's nothing I just have to use the bathroom." She laughed.
"Do you need help?"
"Um no, I'll wait until Ben gets back?” Miranda answered and Tucker rolled his eyes.
"Mom how did you meet Ben?"
Miranda paused for a moment she didn't want to answer really because then it would reveal that she really didn't know him.
"He brought a uh patient in. He's a surgical firefighter ." She answered honestly. It was technically the truth she was the patient though.
"Cool you think he would let me see the station and the truck." Tuck asked excitedly.
"I'm sure he would. I'll ask him."
Miranda sat and talked to Tuck and Tucker for a while. She looked up at the knock on the door.
"Come in." Miranda said softly and smiled when Ben came in.
"Thank youuu." Miranda beamed.
"Your welcome." Ben smiled sitting her food down and his on the chair.
Ben walked over and handed Tuck his orange juice.
"Thank you." Tuck smiled.
"It's no problem." Ben said seriously.
Miranda looked towards the bathroom door and then back at Ben. She was getting ready to ask him to help her, but he knew what she wanted.
Ben walked over to her side of the bed and pushed the covers back. Grabbing onto her thighs and placing an arm behind her. He lifted her up and carried her to the bathroom.
He closed the door and stood waiting patiently.
Ben was tired of the looks he was receiving from her ex husband. He wanted to address it , but it was his first time meeting her son and he wanted to remain respectful. Especially if he was going to try and pursue a relationship with her eventually.
"Mr. Ben my mom said that you are a surgical firefighter. I didn't know that was a thing. How did you do that?" Tuck asked genuinely.
I went to medical school twice. First for anesthesiology. I did that for years and I loved it, but I fell in love with surgery after watching surgeons for years in the OR. After that I became a surgeon. The hospital I was working at caught on fire and one of the residents were kidnapped by a rapist, I knew where she was last so I ran inside and rescued her. That sparked my interest in firefighting. And you don't have to call me Mr. Ben , Ben is fine.
"Yes he does we teach our son about titles and respect." Tucker growled.
"That's great and I'm sure you also taught him don't call someone a name they don't want to be called Correct." Ben asked.
Miranda chuckled from inside of the bathroom she wished she could see Tuckers face right now.
"I'm done." Miranda chimed into the now silent room.
Ben did the same as last night he allowed her to wash her hands before sitting her back in bed.
He watched and listened as Miranda talked to Her son for a while until his phone rung.
"Excuse me." Ben said standing and leaving out the room answering his phone.
After he finished his conversation he walked back in.
"You got to go into work." Miranda said sadly.
"Yes just to do some inventory for the Prt."
"What's the PRT." Tuck asked.
"It's stands for Physician Response Team. We do surgery in the field. The truck is set up just like an OR. So we can operate if we need to." Ben explained smiling.
Miranda smiled she actually wanted to see the truck herself. She heard about what they were doing but never got to see it in person.
"Cool I want to see it." Tuck announced.
"Me too." Miranda chimed in and Tucker rolled his eyes.
"Whenever you both have time and your mother is feeling better. I will show you." Ben said looking between the two. Cleaning up their drinks and empty food containers.
"Are you coming back tonight?" Miranda asked hopeful.
"I will be back in an hour or two inventory shouldn't take long."
"Ben you don't have to come back right away take some time to yourself." Miranda answered seriously.
"I'm fine. I will come back and bring games." He told her.
"Okay see you when you get back, If I'm not here I will be getting scans and test ran." She informed him.
"Ok." Ben nodded before kissing her forehead.
"See you later." Miranda smiled.
After Tucker and Tuck left Miranda went and got her scans and test ran.
"Alright Miranda I will discharge you tomorrow morning. No sexual activity for 6 weeks. I normally would have skipped that for you, but yeah..." Richard trailed off keeping a straight face.
Miranda blushed just even thinking about sex with Ben. She knew that was no where on the program he was still in fact a stranger. An incredibly handsome, sexy stranger might she add.
She just nodded her head at Webber as he continued to tell her the do's and don’ts.
"Miranda your not even listening. "
"I am..." Miranda said dramatically.
"Your not." Ben called from the doorway and Miranda lifted her head up smiling.
"Heyyy who side are you on?" Miranda asked seriously.
"The keeping you safe side." He answered honestly.
"Hey Dr. Webber." Ben acknowledged.
"Warren and thank you for that." He laughed looking at Miranda.
"Anytime." Ben said smiling, sitting a bag of stuff on the side of her bed.
Miranda was ignoring them and started back on her paperwork.
"You paged chief?" Schmitt said walking in the room.
"Yes thank you. Go to my office and bring me the papers from the printer. Then bring me my call log book and my hdmi cord."
"Yes chief."
"Miranda didn't I tell you to lay off on the work." Richard said sternly.
"I told you the same thing yesterday." Ben added.
"And I think I told you both I have an hospital to run." Miranda fired back still writing.
"Baby." Ben whined jokingly and Miranda blushed. She forgot Webber didn't know the truth.
"Don't baby me Ben Warren." Miranda smiled softly at him. "I just want to finish this up and then I'm done. Give me 20 minutes , I swear."
"20 minutes." He confirmed.
"See you tomorrow Bailey." Richard said walking out.
"UNO out! "
"Benjamin, I swear to god, I will strangle you in your sleep." Miranda said as she glared at him from across the table.
It was the second time he got UNO playing.
"Awe don't be like that Miranda, you can't win 'em all." Ben laughed setting it up again.
Miranda rolled her eyes placing a card down and Ben wanted to laugh he didn't have that color, but he had a draw 4.
"Draw 4." Ben said nonchalantly and Miranda's mouth gaped open.
Miranda glared at Ben and sighed as she grabbed four more cards.
"What color is it ?" Miranda asked irritated as she surveyed her own cards.
"Hmm-red." He answered.
Irritation shot through her once again as she started pulling for a red card. "Who the hell shuffled this?"
Ben laughed they were the only two playing the game.
Miranda sighed in relief when she finally drew a card she could use. "Wild! Yellow!"
Eventually Miranda won the game and didn't want to play anymore satisfied with her win.
"You're a sore loser." Ben laughed.
"Uh, I am not." She countered eating her cake he brought her.
"You are, but it's okay. It's quite cute."
"Whatever Benjamin." She responded trying to scratch her leg.
"Did you do the leg exercises today?" He questioned and Miranda turned and looked away.
Ben walked over and pushed the blanket back. He sat on the bed and grabbed her leg gently, sitting it in his lap. He unwrapped it and removed the plastic piece.
"Can you scratch it please Ben." Miranda asked.
"Of course."
Ben scratched up and down her leg avoiding where the stitches use to be.
"Ooh right there." Miranda called out when he finally scratched the part she wanted.
Ben looked up at her face and smiled, she looked to be in absolute pleasure. He stood up and grabbed the lotion before walking back over and massaging her leg. He massaged her leg down to her foot keeping his attention there.
"God that feels good." Miranda moaned.
"I'm going to help you do the exercises." Ben told her holding her leg in the air.
"Ben those exercises hurt." Miranda pouted.
"I know. I promise I will rub and massage it after I'm done." He said softly and she nodded.
Ben took her leg and bent it at the knee before stretching it back out. He pulled her leg forward and backwards and Miranda gasped grabbing her covers.
He stretched it for a few more minutes then as promised he massaged it and her foot once again before going to the next one.
After Miranda was relaxed he wrapped her leg back up.
"Thanks for that." Miranda whispered sleepily.
"You're welcome." He answered crawling into the bed beside her. Miranda turned slightly and put her head on his chest.
"I don't know what I would do without you and I don't even know you." She chuckled.
"I feel like I have known you forever." Ben commented.
"It does feel that way doesn't it?" Miranda smiled.
