Misty

"Mist? You getting ready at my place with us?"

Looking up, Sarah and Maggie walked into the dance studio. I had just finished my final class along with rehearsals for the Christmas show we were putting on tomorrow.

"No babe, sorry."

"And why not?" Maggie asked with an attitude.

"Why are you even asking Maggs? Y'all mans are going to be here just now. I'm surprised you're dressing at my place."

"Kev isn't coming in until tomorrow."

"Oh. So then Misty you'll just be meeting us there then?" Sarah spoke

"Yea I will."

Finally getting up, I stretched. Things were so busy that I was glad for this break.

Christmas was going to be something this year. With Aug's immediate family coming and my aunt and her family, I honestly didn't know what to expect.

My aunt was in this mood since we spoke, over me getting into Juilliard and apparently my uncle was doing some big feast.

Honestly, it made me happy knowing and seeing everyone so excited but it also made me nervous. The last thing I wanted to do was fail. From every since, I hated having that thought so many people were behind me to do good and I just mess up. That scared me the most.

"Misty, you have a visitor."

Turning around, in walked my aunt and my grandmother with smiles on their faces.

"Hey, y'all are here." I approached them.

"Yeah." My aunt and I hugged. "Our flight got in early and I told mom I wanted to see where you worked."

"Well, this is it."

"This is nice. I love what y'all are doing here."

"Yeah. Come, I'll show you around."

Picking up my bag, we left the dance studio. Showing my aunt the different parts of the center, she seemed intrigued by it.

"You know I always thought you would have been a teacher." My aunt smiled.

"Really?"

"Mhmm. You just had this way about you."

"Oh." I blushed.

"So what happens during the holidays?"

"Well there are two caregivers, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Marks. They usually stay on for holidays. Tomorrow we have the christmas show that we invited people to see. We're trying to accumulate more income and resources so we're using it to help."

"And the children?"

"Well after that we do a little something for them with gifts and stuff."

"On christmas eve?"

"Yeah. Some open it one time and some wait."

"Hmm."

"I know that look."

"Where's Sarah?"

"What are you doing aunty Jen?"

"Child hush." She fanned me off.

Standing there, I watched as she approached Sarah and they conversed. Seeing a smile on sarah's face I knew it was something to do with tomorrow.

"Come on." My aunt said as she came up to us.
