Misty

Sitting in the audiance while the children performed, all I did was smile. Though they weren't all perfect,  it was the effort that made it.

"This little girl could sing baybeh."

"Yes. Yasmin is so talented."

"And you're amazing for what you contribute here." He kissed my cheek. "Everything looks great."

"That was my aunt. When she saw and found out what we were doing, she offered to decorate and even got gifts of the children."

"Damn. Tete Jenny got it like that?"

"That's none of your business little boy." She said next to me.

"My bad."

I couldn't help but laugh. The overall turn out was great. We had a full house, and some of the people Sarah invited in hopes of getting some sponsors, came.

"What's happening after this?" He then asked.

"Well, we'll serve light refreshments to the guests and when they leave, the children having their little party."

"Okay."

"Why you asked?"

"I want to take you for a drive."

"We can do that."

"Ya sure?"

"Mhmm." I smiled at him.

Refocusing our attention back on the stage, the dance piece I choreographed was next.

"This your piece?"

"Yeah." I whispered staring at the stage with a smile.

Seeing my piece come to life, you could tell the group was making an effort to get it correct. From the spins, to the twirls, they all tried their best to hit the mark. When they were finished, signalling the end of the show, they received a standing ovation.

"Misty?"

Looking to my size, Sarah was waving me over.

"Give me a minute babe."

"Yeah ma."

"What's up?" I greeted Sarah.

Girl you gotta be up there with us too." She laughed.

"Oh."

Making our way up, all the children came out. Holding hands we all took a bow before Sarah got on the mic.

"First I want to say congratulations to all the children on a job well done."

Applauding, they all smiled and blushed.

"Secondly, I want to say thank you to all of our staff who worked hard to put this show on."

After thanking us, she went on to thanking the community for the support they give. This was my second year doing this christmas show with Sarah and this was the most people I've seen come out.

"Each of these children here possess special gifts and we here try our best to look past their situation at hand and build on the greatness that lies within them. All we ask of you is to continue showing that support, it truly helps. And as I close, we just want to wish you and your family, A very Merry Christmas." All the children yelled. "And before you leave, there are light refreshments to the side. Thank you."

Coming off stage, we were greeted by everyone.

"Sarah, let me talk ta you for a minute." Aug asked.
