Part Twelve: Useless Hints

Zack Young:

'"No, I'm not mad because I am furious. All I wanted was to be your friend but I guess those rumours are right about you, you just push people away who get too close to you. If you keep this up then you will be alone forever".'

Her words keep repeating themselves over and over in my head. She is right, about everything. I do push people away from me but that's because I don't want them close to me and I have no idea why I feel this way, I just do.

With a sigh I look up at her retreating figure as she runs away from me as fast as she can- she's not the first one to escape me like that. However I was used to it by now. Everyone close to me leaves in the end: Dane, Craig, Mum and now new added to the list- Aria.

In frustration I move my hands through my hair with a sigh. It might have taken a while but I got what I wanted, she will finally leave me alone. But why does it feel so wrong? I feel like I am missing someone, or should I say her. But you can't miss someone you don't even know in person right? All this thinking is driving me absolute crazy. I didn't want her around so that's why I was acting so mean to her, to make her back off. But now I got what I wanted and I feel bad about how I have been treating her.

Suddenly a fist collides with my cheek, causing me to fall backwards because of the unexpected punch in the face. "Asshole" I hear someone say in disgust.

When I look up I see the redhead I pushed into the fountain earlier, but what was his name again? Something with the 'K' right? However he's still dripping wet and pretty annoyed from my point of view.

"Oh right you might not know me but I'm Neo" he says in friendly voice with a hint of annoyance. "You better stay away from Aria if you want her to be happy because all you can ever give her is pain. You will push her around until she is broken and scarred, that's something she doesn't deserve".

I snicker softly, how can this guy even know what I can do to her- he doesn't even know me. But I have to admit he has guts for hitting me like that while knowing my reputation. I brush the dirt off my clothes before standing up, wiping the blood away from my mouth with my sleeve.

"You better not start acting like you know me, and trust me you will pay for that punch" I say threatening but he doesn't flinch, he doesn't even blink. Is this guy even human? "Yah you heard me".

He nods. "I heard you say that you're a jerk and will back off. For once think of other people's feelings before your own".

With that he tries to walk away but I quickly grab a hold of his jacket.

"I don't care what you think or what you want me to do, you are not leaving until we are even", with that I punch him back and quickly let go of his jacket so he falls to the ground as well. I get on eye level with him before speaking up, "you better stop acting like I am some sort of buddy of yours because we both know you are not. I make my own decisions and I don't need someone like you to play my mother".

Neo snorts as he gives me a glare. "Funny you mention the word mother, I heard yours was in South Korea- oh or she could have escaped your father's claws and is still living here in Australia" he says with a smug smile.

I grab his collar and lift him up. How the hell does he know about my home situation? Why would he bring it up so carelessly. "What do you know".

"I'll tell you on one condition, leave Aria alone".

"Fine" I mutter before letting him go.
