Chapter  8– In need of fun times

I looked outside through the kitchen window to see the sun shining brightly. Even though it was still cold, this was the closest to a good weather it will get in this harsh cold winter.  I felt like doing nothing at all, just cuddle up in my blanket and watch as much movies I could with a nice hot mug of coffee by my side. But I know there is no chance of me relaxing. Today is my day off and as usual I have a list of things I need get through.

As the first thing on my list was to clean the kitchen and this is the reason why Vincent was stood by the door frame looking at the place with wide eyes.  The pots and pans were all scattered on the worktop while I kneeled on the kitchen floor scrubbing inside of the cupboard. There were over twenty different cleaning products aligned against the far wall so it’s easier for me to choose which product I wanted to use. My mop and the bucket with soapy water were placed in one corner, feeling neglected. I had prepared to mop the kitchen floor but now the entire kitchen was upside down with mess.

“What the hell!” I heard someone groan.

I looked up to see Vincent with a frown on his face. “I don’t think there is a chance of making some breakfast.” He muttered, loud enough for me to hear.

“Don’t worry; it will take me an hour to clean all this up so I’m sure you can wait.” I said breathlessly as I focused rubbing on a dirty mark.

“An hour?” He asked hesitantly.

“Yes.”

“You will clean all this up in one hour?” He waved his hands at the mess.

I groaned in frustration, “Yes!” I replied, still working at the stupid mark.

“An hour. No more?”

“Trust me, everything will be done and dusted.” I said with a confidence, still scrubbing at the same place.

“If you fail miserably, you will have to take me out for breakfast. Your treat.” He added with a smirk.

“Okay.” I said, knowing that I would definitely be finished before an hour is up.

“The way you going cleaning the same spot, I will surely win myself a treat.” He said before he walked out of the room. I huffed at his remark.

An hour later, I had everything where it was supposed to be. The kitchen was looking clean; I had to hurry along just so I could show Vincent that I was right. He didn’t believe me I could clean and clear everything up, well this will surely prove my point.  I put the last of the cleaning products away and made my way to the shower. As soon as I was done I picked my comfy loose pink t-shirt with my tight grey bottoms to wear. I made my way downstairs while I brushed my fingers through my hair as they cascaded down my back.  There on the sofa was Vincent.

“There you are.”

“What’s up?” I asked as I picked up my laptop from my bag in the corner.
