I leaned against a cave entrance, waiting for my friend to return from his travels into the town below this small mountain. His yard was set up with straw training dummies, and his cave was filled with a bowl of water, a bamboo and reed bed, and some racks to dry his clothes.
After a few more minutes, I heard the clop of hooves moving up the mountain, and the centaur appeared in view, carrying a filled leather bag over his shoulder, his bow strapped to his torso, along with his quiver.
"Chiron, my friend," I greeted, startling the old horse man. "Lord Perseus, a pleasure. I hope I have not kept you waiting long," Chiron greeted, bowing respectively. "Not long, my friend. I am on a journey to meet with my old friends and students. How have the days been treating you?" I asked.
"Slow paced, which is more than I could've asked for. I thank you for protecting me, milord, I hope I haven't been much trouble," Chiron replied. "Nonsense. Zeus has still yet to learn of you, and when he does, I will be there to vouch for you. You need not worry about Olympus. Now, have you gotten any students as of late?" I asked.
"None so far, Perseus. Though, I have met a Demigod that could use my training. Unfortunately, he is of Athens, and will be sent to Crete in a few years time," Chiron said sadly. "I will speak with his guardians, and the boy, and suggest you as an alternative option. I will not allow that disgrace of Zeus to slaughter so many, so if I can save one, that'll make my day," I said.
"Thank you, Perseus. His name is Theseus, for when you meet him," Chiron said. I nodded in thanks, gave him a friendly hug, and disappeared in the Earth.
Time Skip:
I reappeared in a golden desert, the sun blazing down on us with 43° Heat. The loose sand rolled in the wind, as I looked to the marble and limestone acropolis and city. Mortals wandered about the lower areas, in the smaller dwellings. In the center of the city was the private city of the Gods.
The entrance to the city was secured with 2 Limestone pillars, and 2 statues of Anubis, Gatekeeper of the Underworld.
"Halt. You seek an audience with the Gods, but you are not of the city. State your Name, and I will deem your importance," the left statue echoed, as I walked up to them.
"Perseus, I am an old friend of Ra," I answered. "Please hold," the statue replied. After a few minutes, the Sun brightened, and the statue answered again.
"Lord Perseus. My apologies for the delay. Lord Ra will see you in the Throne Room," Anubis explained, the statue bowing slightly. I nodded in thanks, and moved towards the gated community of the Egyptian Gods.
"Perseus, my old friend. It has been many centuries since your last visit, how have you been?" Ra asked, as I entered the Council Chamber. The other gods looked apprehensive towards me, not aware of me.
"I have been well, Ra. Been around, leaving behind my teachings and philosophies. You know how it is," I responded, bowing slightly in respect.
"That's Lord Ra, mortal. And you should be groveling on your knees for even getting a meeting with him," a winged god snarled. "Peace, Horus. Forgive my grandson, Perseus. He is a bit arrogant and childish most of the time," Ra explained, glaring Horus into submission.
"It is of no concern, Ra. Immortality can bring the child out of everyone," I replied, waving it off. "Father? Who is he?" Osiris asked. "He is Perseus, a very old immortal. What age are you now?" Ra asked. "Around 4 Billion years, Ra. As before," I answered, getting wide eyes from all the others.
"He is a teacher, taught by the Primordial themselves. In fact, he taught me in Politics, Economy, and Leadership when I was growing up. He is highly respected, and a very powerful ally or foe. So, if you please, do not anger him," Ra requested.
