"Why?" he asked, his hands tied behind a chair as he watched the masked girl in front of him do god knows what.

"Why what?" she asked in return, not understanding his question.

"Why are you doing this?" he started moving his hands to escape the rope she'd tied his hands back with.

She scoffed, "you have no idea what I'm doing" turning to him, eyes showing a sense of familiarity, but he couldn't exactly tell who she was or when he had met her, that was, if he actually knew her.

"You realize you're working with terrorists, right?" he was attempting to stall the mysterious girl typing things into her computer.

"I'm not, working with terrorists actually" she said, causing Mitch to let out a pitying scoff in return. "You sure about that?" He asked, his hands slowly started escaping the tight grip of the restraints.

"Very", she continued typing. "Who do you work for than?" He asked, again, to stall but the girl had caught up to his actions nonetheless.

He slowly slid the rope off his wrists and stood up and just was he lifted his hand to knock her unconscious the girl said an unusually familiar name, "Stan Hurley", still facing the computer.

Mitch stopped, she couldn't have been working with him, could she? Suspicious, that's what it was.

"How am I supposed to believe that?" He asked, this time, the girl turned around.

"No one told you to believe me" she said nonchalantly after turning to the computer again and turning it off sliding it in her backpack.

She walked past Mitch when he asked "are you letting me go? Just like that?"

"Pretty much" she replied. "It's just for the cover I mean I don't actually need to torture you, unless you want me to of course." she took off her mask, a sly grin plastered on her face.

That's why he recognized her. He knew her, in fact he loved her, loved, at some point in time, Mitch Rapp was in love with the masked girl who had just kidnapped him only to let him go.

"No that's not what I—" he began, but she was far gone.
