Anyway enjoy x. (oo also there are slight six of crows references in this and if you understand them ily)

Sam had two problems, Evelyn and his girlfriend. Now to this day, the fact that those people weren't the same plastered a melancholy look over his face and ripped apart the stitches on his heart that were slowly being placed by the sweetest, most beautiful girl he'd ever met. Other than Evelyn of course...

He and Y/n had been dating for two months now, but nonetheless, he'd always get jittery around her. Maybe he could compliment her eyes? Her skin? But the weather was not cooperating. A dark fog had wreathed New York and the moon was no where to be seen. "Just compliment her laugh, girls love that" a friend had told him but unfortunately, Sam wasn't too good with jokes, he'd never heard her laugh, well, at least he'd never been the cause of it.

With the blink of an eye these two month turned into three years, and Sam spent all of them trying to move on but he couldn't. He had fallen hard for a girl named Evelyn Porter and there was no rope to pull him to the surface. The thought that she was happy in the future, where she belonged was tattooed in his brain but so was the fact that Y/n didn't deserve to be with a man who was in love with another girl. He had so many opportunities, so damn many of them to tell her the truth, to tell her that their feelings weren't mutual but he couldn't, because while Y/n climbed up the stairs of heartbreak Sam was trying to convince himself he felt the same way.

There was one secret of Sam's Y/n actually knew, and this secret was that he was from the future. In normal circumstances, if you told someone in the past where technology didn't even exist that you came from the future, they'd think you were out of you mind, crazy, absurd. But Y/n hadn't, she had believed him, just like Evelyn.

This was one of the many ways they were similar. In fact they were so similar that if it weren't for their faces, he probably wouldn't be able to tell them apart. But it was because of this that he never mentioned her existence, what had happened. In Y/n's view he had come here on accident, failing to return. She didn't know he accidentally went to the future, she didn't know he came back for Evelyn and she didn't know he stayed for her either. He didn't want her to feel like a replacement, that was all...

But the real question was; was she a replacement?

Maybe it was just that he had a type, but was it such a coincidence that these two women had almost the exact same personality?

Similar thoughts rushed through the brunettes head almost every day until it happened,,

Rain poured down, structures collapsed, basements were left under water...to everyone it seemed like a horrible disaster but to Sam... it was a way to reunite with Evelyn.

The "couple" was sleeping when it happened not for long though, since Sam woke up the second the sound of rain touched the tinted glass windows of their house.

As impulsive as it was, he ran to the basement, ears starting to ring as he got closer but one thought pulled him from going further, one person.

Y/n.

He couldn't leave her behind, at least not without an explanation so he went back into their bedroom, waking his sleeping girlfriend.
