A/N Shout out to my aunt for giving me the inspiration behind Mitch beating up that guy last chapter!!! She told me when she was in middle school, she did that to her ex-best friend during her lunch period (minus the cursing and calling herself a slut lol). Anyway, new chapter! It's technically a long one, but trust me, it's mainly dialogue and stuff you've already read lol. Enjoy!
~*~*~
Once everyone got to the car, the ride home was silent. Mitch was still pissed, but he looked like he was slowly calming down. Kevin was worried about him and almost jumped when Mitch's thoughts seeped into his mind.
'Fucking bitch ruined my boots... pedaço de merda...'
When they got to a stoplight, Kevin glanced at Mitch in the rear-view mirror. He was glaring out the window for a bit when he stopped and took off his boots. When he inspected them, Kevin saw genuine hurt and sadness in his eyes. One look at them explained why; The parts that had been splashed by the smoothie were turning the once pure black, a nasty white and grey color.
With a huff, Mitch blinked away his tears and went back to glaring out the window.
'I should've stolen that bastard's credit cards too... No, that's stupid, he could track the information and turn them off... Ugh, it was stupid to spit on him, too. They might be able to find my DNA and try to hunt me down... Well, it was only a little, plus I've been careful so I shouldn't really be in the system... I should've slammed his face in more... I hope I gave him a skull fracture... bitch...'
A honk from the car behind them made Kevin focus on his own thoughts and continue driving. It wasn't long before they got back to the house. When they opened the door, Todrick was at the top of the steps to greet them.
"Hey, guys! You're back early." He noted. "So, how was... the..." He trailed off when he saw uncomfortable faces and Mitch holding his ruined boots. "Mall?"
When they got to the kitchen, Kevin explained what Kirstie told him had happened.
"Oh, wow..." Todrick mumbled, and Avi and Scott looked surprised also. To be fair, it was the first time they'd heard what happened too.
"Um... it's okay, Mitch. We can buy you another pair if you'd like?" Scott tried to comfort him, but Mitch shook his head.
"No, you can't."
"Why not?"
"Because those were the only boots in the store, right?" Todrick remembered, and Kirstie nodded.
"Yeah, and they're not getting another shipment of them until next year." She explained sadly. "We couldn't buy another pair now even if we wanted to."
"What about the stores in another city? Surely it's not sold out in every single location?" Kevin asked, but Mitch shook his head again.
"They're back-ordered everywhere. The only reason I even got these is because the store was holding them for another customer, but I used my charm and paid extra..." Mitch's sad expression turned angry for a few moments. "Then that desgraçado ruined them. And he didn't even say sorry! I probably wouldn't've beat him up if he at least apologized, but he tried to turn it on me and say it was my fault!"
He looked at his boots and his anger slowly melted back into sadness.
"Well, we could try to fix them." Kevin offered, gesturing to himself and Todrick.
"Thanks, but you'd be wasting your time. I've seen this before. Once the material turns this color, there's nothing you can do to change it back."
"I'm really sorry, Mitch."
