"you watch so much crap kels" josh mutters to me while flicking through my netflix list. finn is at a few meetings today, so i'm spending time with josh until finn gets home.
he's planning to take me somewhere tonight, and i have honestly no clue where. i haven't seen him since we kissed; he had to leave super early this morning but he did leave me a note with a heart on the end of it, and god knows what that means. i'm so nervous to see him. i want us to become something so badly, i'm so nervous i'll mess it up somehow.
"i do not!" i squeak, offended. "if you think my shows are 'crap' then you clearly have issues. i think you should see a doctor."
"whatever kelsie. my shows are so much better but i know you hate being wrong so i'll pretend for your sake." he smiles cheekily as i roll my eyes. me and josh are those rude to each other, sarcastic siblings. but we also talk a lot about our personal issues and we just seem to understand each other. (my brother hates my guts and never speaks to me but we can pretend he loves me in the story 😀✌️)
"so... how are things with finn?" he questions.
"complicated? we kind o- of- of..." i splutter, debating in whether i should tell him.
"oh my god. you fu-" i jump in before he finishes the sentence. thank god.
"nooooo! what the hell! we didn't! just... oh my god i cannot believe you just said that! anyway, we just kissed." i reply, instantly regretting it. i didn't want to tell him in case finn didn't want us to be something or he didn't want anyone to know.
"thank god. he would be on the plane back to atlanta by now if you had." he starts to have a laughing fit. finn and josh have became super close over the past week, and i'm so glad.
"i'm afraid you don't really get to make that decision, joshua." i smile at him, happy because he doesn't like when i am in the right.
"i know, i know. i was joking! wait, you kissed? details please. where, when, how..."
"yesterday. we were out skateboarding. did he say anything to you, you know, before?" i fidget with the rings on my fingers to distract myself.
"he said he really likes you. you know, the day he was reading out the texts you sent him before you knew who he was?which by the way are hilarious." he replies as i gasp.
"HE SHOWED YOU THEM!" i say, my jaw practically dropped to the floor.
"it was part of the story. he couldn't not show me. i especially loved the 'i wOuLd lEt HiM rAiL mE!' part." josh imitates me, his voice suddenly high pitched. shit. at this point take my phone off of me. i slap his arm and flip him off. as i should.
"anyway, he said after the whole thing between you, he couldn't stop thinking about you. he said that you are like no other girl. and he thinks he might be..." he trails off, like he's debating on telling me something.
"might be what?"
"falling in love with you." he replies, anxiously. love. holy shit. he thinks he is in love with me? me, boring old me? why?
"what?" my eyes lit up after i processed what josh had just said. love.
"finn made me promise not to tell you, but i couldn't keep it a secret anymore. promise you won't tell finn you kn-"
