"Now..." Lila crouched down to the spooky pair in front of her before continuing. "I trust that you two will be responsible..." The woman stopped speaking so the two could reply. "We promise!" Skid and Pump had said in unison. Lila smiled softly. "Alright, well then I'm off!" She stood, walking to the door, waving to the spooky month enthusiasts. "Bye, mom!!" Skid had semi-shouted. Pump nodded. "Goodbye, miss Lila!!"

After their goodbyes, Lila had shut the door, walking out to her car. The boys had run up to the window to make sure their mother had left the driveway. Slowly, they turned to each other, with big grins on their faces. "SPOOKY PARTY ON SPOOKY MONTH!!" they cheered happily, uncaring of who could've heard their shouting.

Skid and Pump both had soon run to the kitchen, "I'll grab the blankets!! You make the popcorn!" The Skeleton kid had said, now running up the stairs to retrieve the blankets from his own room. The Pumpkin one nodded eagerly. Grabbing the popcorn and practically throwing it in the microwave, Pump typed in some silly little numbers that he didn't really pay attention to, now turning on the microwave, watching the bag go round and round for a moment.

Only to be interrupted by a small click, and a loud yelp from up stairs. Though, Pumpkin head clearly hadn't understood that now wasn't the time to be sad over uncooked popcorn.

After sadly carrying the bag of half cooked popcorn to the trash, Pump had realized, everything had gone dark. So he basically missed the trash can...Meanwhile, Skid was up stairs, struggling to see. "PUMP?!" he had yelled, feeling blind in the darkness.

Pump jumped upon hearing his name being yelled. Then something clicked in his tiny head. Skid, one of his best friends, was terrified of the dark, especially when he was alone. "YES??" the boy yelled back to his friend. "C-CAN YO-"

Thump.

Crash.

Silence...

'D....Did Skid just fall down the stairs?' Pump thought.

His thoughts were proven correct after hearing a small whine from the bottom of the stairs.

Pump had quickly reacted, trying his best to make it over while also trying not to knock over stuff himself. "Skid?!" he said, almost shouting, but he had corrected himself before saying anything.

"I'm f-fine!" Skid sniffled, laughing a little himself when he saw pumps shadow fall to the ground himself. The older one of the two slowly moved to go help his friend up from the floor. While doing so, Pump looked over from on the floor. "You're bleeding." he said, not really catching what he said himself.

"What?" Skid said looking around himself, not knowing where he was bleeding exactly. "Your knee," Pump pointed despite Skid not seeing, "It's right there." he was still pointing and Skid looked down at his knee. "No?" Then, he touched his knee.

"Oh.

OH."

Skid, now with blood on his hands from touching the open wound, started freaking out, almost sobbing. "S-Skid! It's alright let's just get you a bandage!" Pump pushed himself off the ground quickly, walking over to skid quickly, and holding his shoulders like he saw in the movies once. That always calms them down in the movies!

Unfortunately for the little pumpkin, it didn't calm the poor soul down. However what grabbed Skid's attention was Pump just straight up yelling his name. "SKID!" they both looked at each other for a moment. "Oh wow that really worked." Pump smiled cheerfully. "W-what??" Skid raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah, we need to get a bandage for you! And take off your mask, I learned it was harder to see with it on!" Skid hadn't even noticed Pump had taken off his mask. Was pumps hair really that puffy? It was indeed fitting for a pumpkin...

Skid snapped out of his thoughts by Pump taking off his mask himself. "There! Now, let's get you a band-aid, and maybe find a flashlight!" Pump smiled, grabbing skids hand, walking around for a moment, now being unsure of his surroundings and what he might bump into now..."do you want me to lead you?" Skid offered. "Yes, please." Skid now took pumps hand instead, walking to where they usually put the spooky related bandaids. Maybe there could be a flash light too!

"Here they are! The spooky bandaids!" Skid had said, while Pump had cheered.

Soon enough, they both had band-aids. Some on Skids knees and one on Pumps face, for the cut that went unnoticed by both small children. The duo soon tried to go up stairs, to go and hide from the scary shadow monsters! Those things are scary, not spooky!

As soon as they made it up stairs, they had taken cover under the blankets skid was supposed to bring down stairs. They both couldn't see anything, considering they didn't have much luck with a flashlight, but no matter that, they both told spooky stories!

Until, they heard rattling at the door, and then it opened. The two, actually very smart children, would've believed it was Lila easily, but now that they have come up with the concept of 'shadow monsters' they were too afraid to check if it was indeed Skids mother.

"Skid! Pump! I'm home!" Lila looked around, waiting for the two to come down and great her.

Yet it never happened...

Lila slowly set down her belongings on a table nearby, "why is it so dark..?" she asked herself.

While walking up the stairs, she noticed the two boys huddled under a blanket, and peeking out to see what was coming their way.

When the duo realized it was her, they practically RAN to Lila, hugging her immediately. They both looked so tired?

"Ah! Hello you two! Are you two alright? What's the matter???" Lila crouched down to the two's level. They were close to tears... these poor boys. "W-We thought you were a monster!" Skid had explained shortly, with Pump clinging to him, nodding in agreement. "Oh... you poor things, come here..." Lila opened her arms for the boys to hug her, and they gratefully accepted the offer. After some time of just hugs, lila had noticed the two boys were not moving. "Skid? Pump? Hello?" Lila said quietly. They didn't respond, but that's when it clicked. They were sleeping.

Lila smiled, now picking the two up from the hug, now heading to her own bed to place the boys in, considering they seemed a little spooked when she had walked in. Soon she exited.

She'll ask some questions in the morning...now, why the hell was it so dark?
