Let's ignore that I said I'll post this like a month ago.

A Dance of Blades
┏━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┓

He should've known better to not be frozen during a typical fight-or-flight situation, especially when he had a presumably 200Ib behemoth wanting to kill him right on the spot.

Izuku managed to escape quick enough for the creature not to latch onto him, yet it was when he was twisting around to get better ground on the situation, the creature yanked hardly on his cloak, and the force of it even causing the upper back of his shirt to rip off with it.

The rest of the events happened in a blur, Uraraka reaching for the creature in an attempt to use 'Float' on it but instead, its reflexes were too sharp for her to try overcoming. Izuku shivered slightly remembering the chilling scream as the creature held her forearm in its clutch, then simply tossed her at some tree resulting in her fainting.

Bakugo took the initiative, although despite him being outmatched, was quick to go on the defensive, a usual tactic for the bombshell. Nevertheless, his explosions were great for distracting and giving the creature a minor blind spot whilst slicing it in one area then twisting around to slice the other.

Izuku didn't have any time to react, simply resting by Uraraka's side examining her injury, attempting to maintain his breathing, and promptly come up with the next course of action. Surely, he can help Bakugo defeat this thing, right? His father is practically worshipped as a legend, of course, he can be able to do something, right?

'The sun's already setting, which means they'll probably be looking for us right now, and it won't take long for them to realize what we did. But, the barrier isn't far from here, I'll be able to carry Ochako through that distance, I just need...' Izuku mumbled towards himself as his plan began falling into place, trying his best to concentrate given their rather pretentious circumstances.

"Kacchan, I'll take Ochako back to the barrier! I suggest you follow behind," He shouted over the multiple explosions, his voice slightly strained having to go so high, but he begins positioning Uraraka securely in his arms, his wings expanding outward prepared to take flight before someone else interrupted.

"Midoriya?! What in the seven hells is going on here!?" The boisterous voice shouted from behind him, startling Izuku out of his confident state, the boy's freckled cheeks paling as he instantly recalled the voice.

His head tilted over his shoulder cautiously, his eyes widening in a mixture of emotions too varied to understand, a wave of spiraling adrenaline coursing through him as he locked eyes with ones of teal and silver. Izuku could barely even breathe, now he was truly concerned if his heart could handle so many spiked feelings all at once, but this was certainly the cherry on top.

In quick spurts of his memory going haywire, fragments of the countless speeches, lectured, and reminders from his elders of the prospects of humans discovering our true selves, and none were good. Shoto simply stared at him with his mouth agape, Iida to his side seemed more composed but still too stunned to act further.

'They won't hurt me, right? No, of course not, they're not like that! But what if they are, what about Uraraka or Kacchan—' At the mention of his friend, his focus shifted again towards the explosion, analyzing the scene as he saw the one he deemed his best friend facing off against a being he has no chance in winning, alone.

"Kacchan!" He called out, his voice sounding choked, strained as if he'd been yelling for hours, tone concern and rather frantic.

Bakugo was a couple of meters away from the group, using the trees in the given vicinity to his advantage, using them to block the creature's punches or use it as cover for one of the beast's more widespread attacks. Granted, all it was doing was just aiding in deforestation as with the combination of his explosions, most of them have fallen and few even sparking ablaze.
