Avery's P.O.V

We were all at my house having a blast.Though Ashton has been a bit down today.I wonder why?He hasn't really talked but just sat there on my couch while me and the others danced and sang songs at the top of our lungs.I've tried getting him to smile and dance but he just brushes me off.Even during our usual pizza dinner that usually consists of laughing and playing, he just sat there staring off into space.Why is my usual party clown Ashton just sitting there like a zombie?That's it!

"Ashhy?What's wrong bubby?"I had asked him.Nothing was my answer.Just pure silence over the music and other boys.I poked his dimple trying for a smile.No help.I sighed."Ashton.Please just tell me what's wrong.You are one of my best friends and you're ignoring us all."He looked at me and a tear rolled down his cheek.He then collapsed into my arms and cried onto my lap.I just held him there."Luke!!!Babe take the boys to another room please."He nodded and they walked to another room.

Ashton continued to sob onto me.I stroked his hair back and he sat up,grabbing my hand while doing so."Avvvery..Shh...eee duuu..mmpp..ed mme."I sat there confused.Who dumped him?He was in a secret relationship?"Shhhee...onnn.lly..daa..tted..mme...to geet to..Luu..kke."I was shocked.Suddenly he stopped crying and began to speak formally."When she found out he was in a relationship she dumped me.We were acting as friends when around people and the boys.I can't believe her.I loved her.We had been dating for 7 months and all for nothing."I pulled him into my arms and gave him a huge hug."Asshy it'll be okay.I'm so sorry and I dislike her already.Yet I don't even know her.He sighed and pulled away."I don't know.I'm sorry for ruining all this."He said while pointing to the mess of our mini party.I shook my head."It's fine and you didn't ruin anything."He nodded then stood up."Thank you so much for listening.I feel much better.Now let's party!"So with that I turned the music back on and the party continued.

The boys walked back in and we all began to dance.It was amazing spending time with my friends.Then we popped in a movie called "The Outsiders".Personally I loved the movie.The book is my favorite book.The boys talked during the movie only to have me yell at them to shut up.When they got quiet and finally watched the movie,they fell asleep.I rolled my eyes at them and finished the movie.Luke was the only one who actually watched it with me,as I laid on his chest while we cuddled in a blanket.He fell asleep only to have me follow along with his plan.

I woke up the next morning to see the boys had gone home.After all they had a five hour drive because they decided to go to some new movie theatre premiere to watch TFIOS.Luke had left a note saying he was going to his house to clean up.I went back to sleep after reading the note.

I was awaken by the ringing of my phone.The caller ID said "HOSPITAL".Why are they calling?

Luke's P.O.V

You're insecure.Don't know what for.You're turning heads when you walk thro-

I was awoken by the dreadful ringing of my phone.Why do I have a 1D hit song as my ring tone?Avery.I'll get her back.Oh yeah my phone.

(Luke=, and Nurse=N)

"Hello?"-L

"Hi.Is this Luke Hemmings?"-N

"Yes?"-L

"Hello Luke.I am Nurse Jackie and I'm calling you because you are one of these three boys emergency contacts."-N

My pulse quickened at that sentence.

"Ye...eesss I...IIIII...I am."-L

"Well Calum,Michael,and Ashton have all been in a terrible accident.You see Mr.Irwin was driving when a tractor-trailer truck crashed right into the passenger's side.I'm sorry to inform you, but Mr.Irwin and Mr.Clifford were killed on scene.Mr.Hood is in a coma here at your local hospital."-N

My world suddenly stopped.My phone disappeared from my hand and crashed onto the floor.I couldn't breath.

"Hello?Mr.hemmings?If you're listening please come to the hospital."-N

With that, the call ended.I just sat there.No tears or anything.I was numb.Two of my bestfri---- no two of my brothers were killed.Calum was in the hospital fighting to live.How could this all happen.It wasn't that long ago when we were all partying and having sleepovers at Avery's house.It was just last night..Oh my god!!Why did this happen?I jumped out of bed and ran out of my house to Avery's.

I pounded on her door until my knuckles were white.She's asleep.I looked under the door mat for her spare key and opened the door once I found it.I traveled up her stairs and to her room.She was lying in a fetal position on the ground while crying her eyes out.She was mumbling things like:"It should have been me?"and "Why does everyone I care about leave me?"I felt so sorry for her.She has lost her family and friends both to a car crash.I walked up to her and scooped her into my arms.Tears began to pour down my own face knowing this is real.

"Ave...ery.Sww..eetie we need to..goo ..to thh..ee ho...spitall."She nodded and clutched onto me as though she'd lose me next.I then got her settled into my car and drove off.
