It was late fall, Saras was returning home from hunting. Her uncle had taught her a couple years before. He passed away the week after. Saras' mother was executed by the lord of the town for treason (Being a little late with paying taxes). The entire government was corrupt and unfair, but people learned to deal with it. As long as they followed the rules, they were not hurt or punished. Saras had thought this way right up until her uncle had opened her mind to a change in government. Saras was a mage, she trained her all 21 years of her life and she still has not mastered a single move. “Father! I'm home!” she hollered as soon as she walked in her door. It was a small, one story, house with only 4 rooms. The kitchen, Den, and two bedrooms. When you walked into the house you would enter the den. To the right was the kitchen, left was Saras' bedroom, straight ahead was her father's bedroom. “How did you make out?” her father shouted back from the kitchen

“I got two rabbits!'

“Good, bring them in here!” She walked into the kitchen and handed him the rabbits. “Did you hear?” he asked her with no context. “I've been in the forest, so no.”

“Tibilof has had reports of fights happening on the roads”

“Between who?”

“The High King's men and rebels.”

“Rebels?”

“Apparently they are a group of people who are working to overthrow the regime. They call themselves the Negas”

“Good for them, standing up for what they believe in.”

“You can't possibly say you want the rebels to win?!” Oh yea, he is a big supporter of monarchy. He did know she would for the rebels, but when a chance came up, they would argue over who's view is better.

“Of course, the Nega's sound like good people, standing up for everyone who has been oppressed.”

“Whatever, you finish skinning these rabbits, I'm going into town.”

Saras always wondered where he went when going into town, but she would be out of her place to ask (as her father would say). She finished skinning the rabbits and set them down in the drawer. She then went outside to practice her magic. Recently she had been focusing on fire magic, because it branched out into some cool stuff like lightning and lava. She did practice over types as well such as ice.

Once she was done she went into town herself. First she went to the market to pick up some vegetables for some stew, then went to the “magic accessories” store. There she browsed the selection of powerful staffs and cloaks. She always seemed attracted to the water staff, despite using primarily fire. After looking for half an hour the merchant kicked her out.

At night she was done shopping and started home. The moon was full and reflected off the pond in town square. It was pretty, but Saras tried to ignore it. She was weird like that. Always had to be tough. She decided to take a shortcut through an alleyway. While she was walking through it she saw a man lying on the ground, blood flowing out from his stomach. She stopped for a second, almost to scared to move. There wasn't a ton of blood on the ground so he can't have been there long. She then thrust towards him, thinking she could save him just by being there. She got close enough to see his face and...
