“The seven sages of Auxilium! This map leads to their sanctuary!? They are the most powerful sorcerers on the planet, why do you need a map to them?” Saras asked surprised by the truth.
“They are the only ones that can help the Negas take down the monarchy. My job is to steal the map, which was being transported to the Prince, and take it back to our base in Tibilof.”
“Wow” was all Saras could get out.
This was a lot of information to take in. Her and her companion were the two people who the Negas would depend on to win the war. Why would Lamos trust me Saras wondered. It seemed he had him self covered. What did he need Saras for? The words he used when she asked to travel with him were “mutually beneficial”. Did he think Saras was more talented than she was? Or was there an ulterior motive. Saras decided not to ask him for now, in case he would decide to split up.
“In all that I was able to find out two things. One, that the High Prince seems to be a general. And two, he is leading the 2nd royal army.” Said Lamos confidently.
“How could you tell it was the 2nd?” Saras asked.
“Their emblem was on many of the tent doors.”
In the kingdom, there were five army's. The 1st and 2nd were the royal army's. The 1st serves the High King, and the 2nd serves the High Prince. The other three are stationed throughout the world. The 3rd in at Tibilof, battling the Negas, and the other two are in the Capital of Sodalem. There also five squads of elite troops. Same deal with them.
“Whats our next move?” asked Saras.
“What do you think? To go to Tibilof.” Said Lamos semi-sarcastically.
“I mean what route are we going to take?”
“The quickest way is through the capital, so I hope you are stealthy.” He answerd.
Saras thought this was a bad idea, but Lamos had been right so far, so she went along with it. It was going to be a long journey, and she didn't know how Lamos intended to get over the walls of Sodalem. They saw a small village as they were riding there mounts, so they decided to stop by to resupply. They tied up there horse and griffin to a post and went into the village. It was small and peaceful. Couldn't have been more than 1000 people. They resupplied on food and other necessities. Then a group of nearly 100 soldiers came into the town. Lamos recognized them as being from the 2nd royal army. This was a very small amount of them. The rest must have been waiting outside. Saras and Lamos rushed to their mounts and what they found were two broken ropes, a dead horse, and the foot of a griffin.
