{Bakugou's POV}
She reminded me so much of her. So much of onii-chan... No, don't think about her. It'll only increase the guilt. Suzuki tilted her head at me, frowning deeply. Shit, I think I worried her. I shook my head and gazed into the horizon. Suzuki sighed.
"Well, I have to go. See you at school after summer Kacchan!" She said and sprinted off.
I sighed, at least I was alone. If she had stayed here any longer, I would've broken down on the spot. Luckily no one was near around me. I sat down and rubbed my temples deeply, breathing in and out a lot.
Not now, please not now. It wasn't the place for it. I'm not ready to be pulled back into that... Too late.
"Nee-chan!!" Katsuki yelled as he stumbled over to a young girl with messy ash-blonde hair.
"Oh, Kitty-Kat! What is it?" Himiko questioned as Katsuki jumped into her arms.
"Nothing, I just wanted to jump, onii-chan!" Katsuki laughed.
Himiko sighed and set down Katsuki, before patting his head, "You better be more careful, kitty-kat."
Himiko smiled as Katsuki grinned. Both of them were at the park, near where they lived. Himiko was 9, when Katsuki was 8.
"Come on, it's nearly time to go." Himiko said, watching the sun sink across the horizon.
Katsuki nodded and both of them quickly went back home. When they walked in, they heard shouting, and really loud arguing. Himiko winced as she covered Katsuki's ears, seeing him inaudibly whimpered. Both of them moved past the living room, where Mitsuki and Masaru were loudly arguing. This had been going on for a few years, going back until two days after they had moved back from America.
Himiko hated it. They had two kids, two young kids who were still growing up.
Her grip tightened on Katsuki's ears and the arguing got even louder. They moved up the stairs before it got intense. Himiko sighed as she locked the door of Katsuki's bedroom.
Katsuki sat on his bed, clutching his pillow tightly. Although Katsuki didn't understand why they were fighting, he still didn't like it. Why were they fighting? Was it his fault? Did it have something to do with Himiko? He needed answers.
Himiko started lightly stroking her younger brother's head. Katsuki softly leaned into her touch. He was drifting off into light sleep, making Himiko smile softly. Gingerly, she kissed his forehead and he fell asleep. Himiko tucked Katsuki quickly into bed before leaving his room.
Himiko went downstairs and into the living room, where Mitsuki and Masaru didn't notice the young girl's presence. She rolled her eyes and quietly made her way to the kitchen. She got a glass of water and silently sipped it, her ears perking on the argument.
"Just shut the hell up! It's not my fucking fault we're like this!" Mitsuki screamed.
"Then who do you want to blame?! Katsuki!? He's still 8, how would it be his fault?!" Masaru retorted back.
Himiko winced. Katsuki was 8. He had nothing to do with this.
"What about Himiko?! The girl's a menace! What do you say about her, huh?!" Mitsuki yelled.
Himiko gasped, her fingers letting go and the cup clattered to the ground. The argument quieted down, no doubt hearing the clink as the cup made contact with the tiled floor. Himiko walked out the kitchen, her head hung low.
"Himiko... I-" Mitsuki stuttered, but Himiko didn't hear.
Instead, she stormed back up the stairs and into her room where she slammed the door and locked it. The argument resumed once more and Himiko broke into a sob.
It was her fault? But how could it be? Himiko tried her hardest, in home, in school. She even took care of Katsuki for fucking god's sake! Sure, she didn't have any friends. And maybe she wasn't popular. But she didn't understand how this was her fault.
The sweet tears rolled down her cheeks, her nose sniffling. Strands of ash-blonde hair fell onto her face.
"I'm sorry mama and papa... Sorry I'm not enough..." Himiko whispered, wiping her teary eyes with her sleeves.
She couldn't take this anymore. She wanted to run away. No, she needed to. She was the reason the family was falling apart. The reason that Mitsuki and Masaru were fighting. The reason that Katsuki kept going to bed every night, wondering why their parents were fighting.
Shakily, she got up. Himiko grabbed a pencil and a piece of paper. And with teary eyes, she began writing.
