It all started on July 15th, a normal day for a lot of people but not for Grace. For her it meant having all the attention towards her, she didn't like that part, and I mean who could blame her? For most of her life she only got the attention she needed, growing up with 18 siblings is not easy, especially if they are wizards and could turn you into a frog whenever they feel like it. Her mother, Melissa, always tried her best to make each and everyone of their kids feel special, so whenever it was their birthday she would let them decide what they wanted to eat and do for the whole day. It was almost like an obsession, a tradition in her words.

Grace woke up in her queen sized bed, only to find her parents and siblings staring at her. She looked at them tiredly and started to sit down slowly as she knew what was about to happen. She looked at the clock and raised an eyebrow, it was almost 9:34, the time she had been born, that meant that any moment now her entire family, tweeny one to be exact, would be wishing her happy birthday sixteen times, because that's the age she was going to turn.

-Guys you don't need to do this every year, I get it, you care about me but if you really loved me you would know how angry I can get when I don't get enough sleep so please just go-Said Grace while pointing to the door.

-Don't complain! At least it's not 4 am! They wake me up every year to wish me a happy birthday too!- Exclaimed Everleigh, one of the many little sisters Grace had.

-Yeah I know. I have to wake up too to wish you a happy birthday-Replied Grace

Melissa looked at the clock as the needle turned to 9:34.

-Guys..., it's time!- She said excitedly.

Everyone wished her a happy birthday sixteen times while Grace just waited impatient for all of it to be over. After what seemed like an eternity, silence started to fill the room.

-Are you done?- Asked Grace.

-Nope, the day just started- Said Melissa while hugging her daughter.

Grace looked at her and her mother quickly saw she was about to lose her temper so she made everyone leave.

-Ok honey we'll let you sleep now- She turned to the door and started to close it, she looked at her one more time, she smiled and quietly said- Happy birthday baby girl.

-Thank you mom- Grace smiled back at her. Melissa closed the door and Grace got out of bed. She could no longer sleep, not at least knowing they were presents waiting for her downstairs.

And for a moment she got excited. She ran to her closet to find the perfect outfit for this special occasion, she had her whole day planned. First they were going to eat strawberries with whipped cream, whomed her mother and step father promised to let her eat as much cream as she'd liked. She had this saying: I don't eat strawberries with whipped cream, I eat whipped cream with strawberries. After that she would go to the beach with her best friends Selena and Aiden. Then they would all go out for dinner to her favourite restaurant in town called "Mac and not cheese", I know, weird name right? Later they would play board games, and then they would give her the presents and of course, eat the cake. That was her favourite part. One day wasn't enough though, at least she thought. So they celebrated a birthweek, she got the idea from this show she used to watch when she was little called "Victorious". She would later have a goodbye party with her friends and family. She was turning 16, which meant she was going to have to prepare for the most important test in her life. A lot of her siblings had another family on Earth, they all explained how cool it was everything, by just pressing a button the lights would turn on, in school they would teach you about science, most people on the Victoria Gomez would love to learn about, they all said it was like learning about a different kind of magic. All of the kids wished for the day they would turn sixteen and would be able to experience it. She was excited, but mostly scared. Scared that something might go wrong and she wouldn't be able to return home again, scared that something would happen to those she loves while she's away. The rules required that during the first month you can't visit the Victoria Gomez, only in emergency situations. After that, you would need to find a portal on your own. She read that some wizards took more than a year to find one since they were well hidden, she couldn't imagine what it would be like if she wouldn't be able to return home and see her friends and family for over a year. The first month was the hardest since you couldn't even talk to your other siblings that also live on Earth. It was a test that would last two years. No matter what happened she would have had the opportunity to live on Earth for two whole years and that right now, was all that she wanted.
