Delilah...

Did I really make the right decision?I never gave it full thought to be completely honest,I don't trust my mind's palace.I'm in there too often,I have a love hate relationship with it.I feel safe when I need it,It's my safe space.I open my eyes and in front awaits a long door way too tall for my liking with a long silver bar posing as the door handle.

Inside was the most beautiful waterfall,glowing with green and blue lights emitting from the water source bouncing off the walls with an ocean pattern smeared near the small flower garden with a wooden arch covered in vines with little purple and blue flowers in between,A bench swing set on a hill with a perfect birds eye view of the layout.

Don't get too looped,It's not all happy rainbows.If i'm neutral it's comely and peaceful.On the other side,the deep end awaits.I take a grasp of the door handle and it's piercing sending chills down my spine.I reluctantly open the door to a sight I see too often.No water flawlessly flowing out of it's source,The vines and vegetation-All dead.

The bench broken,surrounded by overflown dark green vines.I stood at the entrance with no emotion,It wasn't neutral it was more like a numb feeling,I felt nothing.No despair no sadness,Just a soulless body looking out to render distance.That's where I was most of the time,It wasn't pleasant but when I was there I felt a sense that I was in a wrong place in my life.My gut was always in the right,Even if the outcome was bad.I was definitely wrong,I'm sorry I'll see you soon okay?

Karl...

Yesterday I can tell,It's gonna be history soon.I could tell that when I was talking to her I felt like we'd been friends for years.The air was accumulated with amity,Even if it was only for a short amount of time.I still was connected with her.I was exhilarated to get up in the morning.I went downstairs to grab my backpack and keys and lock the front door. I started my car and synced my phone to play sweater weather by the neighborhood.I arrived at work about 15 minutes later.I usually arrive first to open up shop.I put in my air pods and continue to play my music to get me motivated to work.I open up about an hour early to clean and set up.About 10 minutes later I hear the bells ring at the front of the store,I peak my head from behind a bookshelf to meet a gaze with Amber.I smile and wave.She walks up to me and gives me a side hug.

"Good morning how'd you sleep" They seemed rather propitious than normal.

"Good I guess,What are you smiling about?" I asked, turning towards Them leaning on the book shelves.

"Well..I found the perfect present for Amelia"They said pulling out They're phone.

"Ouuuu what'd you get her?" I asked peering over They're shoulder.

"I got her a ring that says I love you in 100 different languages" They showed me a picture online of They're order,I scrolled through the photos and it was a really pretty ring.

"That's really cute" I said, still brooming the last of the floor before opening.I went back to the counter and for a second spot the book,Delilah,I'm really hoping she comes back today.An hour passes by and it's now opening time,I switch the sign outside to open and walk back to my position.I sit on the counter and scroll through twitter until I heard a bell near the front,I get off the counter and continue to scroll until someone walked up to me.

"Hi "Delilah.

"Hey" I said a little too cheerfully but she didn't notice,I don't think.

"So umm I might have left a book,the one we were talking about yesterday" She says looking around near the chair we were previously sitting at.
