When Harry opened his eyes the next day, Zayn was sitting up and staring down at him.
"Fuck Zayn, why are you staring down at me like that?" Harry groaned, putting his hands over his face for a moment.
Zayn shrugged. "Sorry."
"No it's okay. Are you feeling better?" Harry asked quietly, once he remembered why he was here.
Zayn nodded with a smile. "I slept good last night."
"Well, that's perfect because I did too. I guess my job here is done then." He sat up so that the cover fell to his waist and exposed all of his chest.
Zayn found it hard to tear her eyes away from Harry's body because she hadn't realized how fit her best friend was till now. She remembered sitting around with Harry, with their shirts off when she was a guy, but this was the first time she'd seen him shirtless since she had become a female. Up close, those tattoos actually looked really good on him.
"No, no. Stay a little longer." She pleaded as she tried to ignore the new thoughts about a half naked Harry that were beginning to cloud her mind.
"I can't stay all day. It's Sunday and tomorrow is my first day back to work."
"I have to go to work too."
"Yeah but you're a woman and all of you have these little capsules of energy stored up that you release when it's time. I don't have that."
"No, that's stupid. That's also not even close to being true."
"Not true? Then explain how you are so damn happy right now and I'm not when we both just woke up." He joked.
Zayn thought for a second and huffed. "Why do you stereotype me so much? I hate when you do that Harry. Not all females are the same. We are all different."
Harry laughed but pulled Zayn closer to him with one of his arms. "Okay, okay. Don't be mad. I apologize. I forget you're so sensitive now."
Zayn pulled away shaking her head. "Not at all. I'm going to pretend you didn't call me sensitive, because if there is one thing I know, its that women are strong and confident and shouldn't let men tear them down. So I am going to try to be strong and confident today."
Harry smiled as she climbed out of bed and went over to the closet. But he found his eyes gravitating towards her butt again; the way it looked in those little short shorts and-- even though he felt guilty-- in those purple panties. He'd just realized it wasn't so creepy anymore knowing that her body was made different now. And it wasn't so weird that parts of her body stood out more than they used to. It was interesting and attractive. He knew he'd told Zayn she was beautiful at times. But he didn't grasp how beautiful she really was as a woman until now.
"Zayn..."
"Yeah?" She peeked her head out of the closet.
"Did you wanna... Did you want to go out for lunch together? My treat." He offered, standing up with a stretch of his body.
She turned away and went back into the closet do she didn't have to see him in his underwear. She already felt a little guilty that she stared at his chest earlier.
"I don't know, you bought ice cream yesterday and I wasted it. So maybe not."
"Well, that's all the more reason, you know? So that we can maybe talk about what happened."
Zayn sighed and by now she was just mindlessly looking through her clothes. She wanted to hang out with Harry today. But she wasn't sure if it would be good to sit across from him at a restaurant after the thoughts she had of him just a couple minutes ago. Being at home with him was fine because she could always get up and go to another room. But being in public with him was totally different. She couldn't just get up and walk out on him. At least she didn't want to.
