Zayn sat in front of the familiar home and scolded himself. He was supposed to think of an apology last night, but he cried himself to sleep before he could. At work, all he did was think about Harry and Yvette. What was she going to tell him, that would guarantee a future with him?

He could hardly pay attention to the kids at the daycare for fear she might succeed. So surely he hadn't really thought of what to say to Perrie. The only thing that kept him from changing his mind is that he knew he needed to apologize. He had already waited entirely too long.

He got out of the car, went up to the door and knocked on it. He hoped that she still lived here. Or else he'd hate himself forever for deleting her number from his contacts.

After waiting a few seconds, the door opened and he was met with a tall muscular, dark skinned guy.

"May I help you?" He asked and he had an accent that told Zayn he was of African descent. He was a good looking man if Zayn said so himself.

"I'm looking for Perrie Edwards. Do you know anyone by that name?"

He smiled. "Oh, yes, yes. Perrie is my wife. How do you know her?"

"I'm an old friend of hers. My name is Zayn Malik." He said very cautiously.

"Oh, you wish to speak to her?"

"For a moment, if you don't mind."

He studied him for a moment, then decided he was telling the truth."Hold on one second." He left the door wide open. "Perrie!" He yelled.

"What?!" Zayn heard her yell back and that made him so happy.

"A friend of yours is here to see you!"

"Who?!"

"Zayn Malik, he says!"

That's when it became very quiet.

"You know him?!" Her husband yelled again.

"Yeah, I do! I'll be down in a minute! Hold on."

"Okay!" He returned to the door again. "Would you like to come in?"

"No, thank you." Zayn said as he looked off into their front yard. "I can wait out here. It's a beautiful day."

"Alright. She'll be here soon."

"Thank you."

This time when he went in the house, he pushed the door up so that there was a small crack and he could no longer see into the house. Zayn couldn't believe Perrie still lived here after not seeing her for over a year. He thought she would have moved somewhere else by now. He was so lucky she hadn't.

"Zayn?" A soft voice said and out stepped Perrie in shorts and a T-shirt. She didn't have on any shoes.

Zayn couldn't believe he was seeing this sight. His ex-girlfriend was standing there in front of them and the last time he saw her, they'd had a heated argument. The nerves started to come tenfold.

"Hi, Perrie." He mumbled.

"Hey... what are you doing here?" She questioned as she pulled the door up some.

He breathed nervously. "Remember our argument on the day we broke up... when you said that when I got myself together, then I should talk to you?"

She shrugged, not really remembering saying that. "I guess so."

"Well I'm finally ready to talk."

Her lips parted slightly as she rubbed over her stomach with the palm of her hand. "Zayn... it's too late. I was hoping it was sometime within the next two weeks after that breakup. But when nothing changed, I moved on. It's been a year and four months since then."
