Blood Rose

We reached the cave after sometime walking down the road of Haarfingar towards Dragonbridge and turning right into the hillside and deep into the wilderness. At the Entryway of the cave, Yang asked about what to expect.

"A wolf or 2, life-draining spells, a big chance of contracting Vampiris Sanguinaris and a few vampires including a Master Vampire."

"What about my sister?"

"Best bet: She's held a prisoner. Possibly suffering as we speak or working as a thrall under their command... Worse case: She's one of them and she's too far gone to recover."

"Recover?"

"If she's undergoing the metamorphosis then a potion should help her recover. Once she envelopes her first victim... then there's, pretty much, no return."

Connor: "There's Falion..."

Yang: "Falion?"

"Falion is a man who's dealt with all sorts unnatural and undead. He's the only one I know who can bring life back to a vampire. Believe me, I know and it is essential that he lives or we find out how to cure it ourselves. Lock and load, boys..."

The lads ready their weapons and I equip my fireball and lesser ward spells. Yang readies her firebolt spell and stays behind me as we enter. The trio of battle-brothers lead the purge and counter the wolves I expected in the first cavern, one wolf was hit in the skull by a crossbow bolt and the other was swiftly butchered by Lewis and his axe.

We follow the tunnel ahead of us which brought us to an overview of the rest of the cavern where 3 lesser vampires and the master vampire were nesting. By a small, bloodied table  was little Ruby Rose tied up and watching the master vampire feast on a banquet of blood and flesh. The others were spread out across the cavern as if on duty.
Connor reloaded his crossbow and timed his shot wisely. As the bolt was released, it glided through the air and struck the vampire just a few yards away from us. As soon as she hit the floor, the others were alerted to the ambush which forced our hand to rush in and catch them off guard.

My shield-brothers broke formation from Yang and I to press the attack as I cast a fireball spell and mutilate the master vampire before he had chance to retaliate. Kris and Lewis slaughtered the last 2 lesser vampires on either side of the cavern after one hit Connor on the shoulder with a lightning bolt. He was propelled back but it didn't keep him down for long. Yang untied her sister amidst the skirmish and freed her after lighting the binding on Ruby's wrists.

Yang: "I'm so glad you're ok. I almost thought I would lose you."

Ruby: "I'm okay, sis, really. Although I wouldn't have been for long."

I approached Ruby and checked her over for bites and signs of vampirism: her neck, arms, eyes for change of colour and thirst for blood by waving a potion of blood under her nose. Luckily she almost threw up which was more relieving than just turning away. "Yep, she seems fine. Now let's get her out of here. Is anyone hurt?"

Connor: "Just a lightning bolt but I'm good. Nowt serious."

Ruby: "Yang, how did you find me?"

Yang: "Luckily F/N, here, is a bit of a cartographer. Where's your scythe?"

"I think they put it in that chest over there..." She said, looking at a chest in the distance Kris was digging through.

Kris in the distance: "FOUND IT!" Waving the scythe above his head with both hands as the weight dragged him around a little. He approached with her weapon and handed it over. "That thing weighs a fuckin' tonne! How can you keep your balance with that?"
