~Kyra

BY THE TIME I was sent to my quarters for my ten minute break before the service I was to provide to Adonis' fiancé, I was too angry to even realize that Jamal had followed me there.

He was saying something I didn't understand, since I was still physically shaking, but I managed to calm down little by little. Then, I broke down.

"Just do your job, you'll make it out alive." He said, nonchalantly. He was obviously not used to this sort of thing but he was trying.

We were still standing, but with the door closed, so I saw it as a good opportunity. He probably didn't want to be seen with a thief, however, closed doors did some justice to that.

"Didn't you see how they were acting? They hate me." I cried into his shirt.

"Stop doing that." He grimaced. "You look so ugly like this." He pulled me closer to his chest, so close that I could hear everything from the beating of his heart to the sound of his steadied breathing.

A loud knock was heard and we quickly pulled away. From behind the door a servant spoke.

"The lady seeks your presence at her quarters immediately."

I groaned as I began to prepare while Jamal left. No sweet goodbyes. I don't know why I expected it.

Adonis' fiancé's quarters happened to be on the other side of the chateau. How wonderful. I was grateful to myself that I swapped my heels for slippers I saw in the closet.

I knocked on her door and a shrill voice asked me to enter.

"You're late." She seethed, without turning to face me. She already pulled off her dress, leaving her bare in front of me, except for her corset and frilly knickers. I tried my best to bite on my tongue.

I looked at her room in awe. Though it was the same size as mine, it had the best of the best. Her room was golden, like the ballroom, with a proper bed fit for a queen, and a walk-in closet to herself.

"Don't just stand there, get to work!" She yelled.

I moved swiftly, but efficiently as I pulled each string of her corset out, making sure to stop snagging with my sharp fingernails.  I brushed her hair and trimmed the split ends, and she forced me out of the room to get dressed, only to force me back in again. I kept my patience with her. Hopefully I would be payed enough, as it was all in return of my crimes.

When I set my eyes upon her, I realized what she was about to do. She was still wearing a corset, only different in a way. It was lacy, see-through too, with a black, silk kimono covering the rest of her body. She had unusually large hips and buttocks, which amazed me, but half of her was Infidelity, so what was there to be surprised about?

"Inform the carrier service that I am on my way to Adonis' quarters." She told one of the servants. Then she faced me. "Be on your way. And don't be late next time, at least, if you don't want me to have your head."

I held back a rude exhale. My heart was twisted and squeezed more than ever at this point. They were going to mate. It disgusted me. He looked at her with both love and lust, whereas, he only looked at me with disdain. And it was so pure.

I made my way back to my quarters, changed into a night gown and ventured to the pantry for a cup of tea. If there was anywhere to get lost in, it would be a book in a library. I was no bookworm, but that depended on the book itself, and the author.

The pantry wasn't too far from my quarters. As soon as I walked in, the smell of freshly baked bread filled my nostrils. They'd just finished the meal the new 'royals' would enjoy before their little session. I shuddered at the thought.

I looked at the cupboard about four feet away from me. How did they manage to reach that? And there weren't any stools around. I took the chances I had and tried climbing the table, only for me to slip and fall backward.

It was a rush, a quick movement, and with empty wine glasses under me, I knew this was certain death. However, that was not the case. Strong arms caught me in time, making me ponder on who on Earth it could have been.

It couldn't have been Jamal, he lived on the other side, his room was right next to Adonis' room. It couldn't have been Adonis either, as he was having a 'session' in his room.

I finally decided to look at my saviors face, only to see a rather scrawny looking girl. I hopped out of her arms immediately, dusting myself off.

"I could've killed you!" I whisper-shouted. It was quite late.#

"Are you alright? That was quite a slip." She asked, ignoring my question. Then, she saw my glare.  "I'm quite athletic."

I exhaled out of relief and continued to brew my tea while the  mystery girl waited for me.

"So what are you doing, so late at night?" She spontaneously enquired.

"I was actually trying to get to the library."

"Library? Well, it's a good thing I was in there before I found you."

When we arrived to our destination, she pushed the double doors, pushing many feelings into my adventure-hungry soul. As soon as I stepped inside, the smell of coffee, new books and pure warmth racked my body with shivers down my spine.

"Been a while," I mumbled to myself as I ran a finger down the shelves.

The thought of feeding my mind with the words on a crisp, pristine page made my mouth water. However, I was at crossroads. I had about thirty minutes before I was to be back with the inbred lady.

"Have a seat," The scrawny one encouraged. "You have very little time."

"So," I took a sip out of my tea. "What are you doing in a place like this? Are you a servant?"

"Oh, no." She chuckled. "I'm Adonis' elder sister."
