CHARLES PLEADED WITH ANASTASIA TO RUN TO RAVEN BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE. If James was telling the truth — which, why wouldn't he? — then Anastasia was the only one who could get her to stop. However, as she sprinted across the lawn, pushing past the crowd of rushing people trying to escape, she could feel fear stronger than anyone's else's.She whipped her head around, seeing Charles look to the sky with wide eyes. Following his gaze, she saw exactly what she as causing his fear. Anastasia looked back over hesitantly, seeing Raven ( disguised ) run off with the President and Secret Service members.
Going with her heart, Anastasia sprinted back over to Charles, tackling him out of his wheelchair and to the ground. Metal barring and cement crashed around them. Anastasia, with Charles' head tucked into the crook of her neck, cried out in pain.
"I think...I think my ankle..broke," she gasped out in pain. Writhing in pain, she tried her best to put some distance between her and Charles, so it wasn't as awkward for the man. The two were laying on their backs, watching the stadium around them crash into the ground. Once she was done wincing at the idea of people getting hurt, she opened her eyes to the sight of Logan.
"Anastasia?" he asked with worry in his voice. Hank popped up next to him.
"We're fine," Charles replied with a grunt.
"Just go get Raven!" Anastasia hollered, trying to pull her ankle out of beneath the cement slab. "And stop Erik!"
Logan and Hank didn't wait around for any other orders. They knew exactly what to do.
Anastasia and Charles, on the other hand, had no choice but to stay where they were. Using his telepathy, he searched through the minds of anyone left. Majority of civilians had escaped moments before Erik crashed the stadium around the White House, and those who were left were barely injured and hiding behind the scattered pieces of debris.
Anastasia calmed her rapid breathing, trying to make best of the worst possible situation. "Great," she murmured. "If Raven doesn't kill Trask, Erik sure the hell will."
"I think he has much worst plan," Charles said. The two looked at each other worriedly. Anastasia groaned as she pushed the bars off from her and Charles. He tried to help, but even together, they weren't able to get out from underneath it. Suddenly, Anastasia gasped.
"I'm telekinetic," she said surreally. "And an idiot, apparently."
Green energy coiled around the cement and metal barrings. Using all of her might and energy, she forced it into the air. It hovered over the ground for a few moments. Instant relief came from her ankle. She rolled over a few couples times, her vision free from the cement.
