The Cries of a Mandrake

Hera POV.

I can't tell you how much I'm happy to be back here. And I can already tell this is going to be hell of a year. The revelry will continue between Harry and Draco.

"Hey, Hera." Draco calls out of me

"Hey."

"I wanted to introduce you to the Captain of the Slytherins team, Eric." He continues

"Yes, Eric. I've seen you around." I said shaking his hand.

"Nice to be seen. I wanted to let you know that tomorrow we have practice." He says

"Like try outs." I said confused

"No, I've seen you in brooms class. You two show up tomorrow we'll have our new Chaser and Seeker." He says

"Thank you and I will be there." I said smiling.

"Than that's it then." He says walking to class.

"We're on the team." I Said hugging Draco.

"That's not all. My dad got us all new brooms. Cool isn't it." He says

"Yeah, it's cool." I said thinking of what he just said. I didn't know how to feel about it.

"Come on we have to get to class. We have Herbology today." He says

And we took off to class.

"Welcome, Second years to Green House Three. Now gather round." Professor Sprout says as she walks in.

"Today We're going to repot Mandrakes. Can anyone tell me the properties of a Mandrake root?" Professor asks

Hermione raises her hand.

"Yes, Ms. Granger?"

"Mandrake or Mandragora, is used to return those whos petrified to their original state." Hermione says and pauses and looks at me.
Like did she forget or does she wants me to finish the answer

" It's also quite dangerous," I started to speak getting the professor's attention, "The Mandrake's cry is fatal to anyone who hears it."

"Thank you Grangers. Ten points for Gryffindor and Slytherin."

"Brilliant, Mrs. Malfoy." Blaise whispers to me and I hit him quickly for Professor Sprout not to see.

"Owwe." He says and I laugh.

"Now your Mandrakes are still seedlings, so their cries aren't fatal. You'll maybe just be knocked out for several hours. Which is why each of you were given a pair of earmuffs for auditory protect." Professor says starting the lesson

"Shall we all put them on now. Right now. Flaps down tightly. Quickly now." She says watching us

"Watch me closely," she says starting, " Grasp your Mandrakes firmly." She's doing as so.

And can I say that cry could make ears bleed. It was horror.

"Now, dunk it down into your other pot and pour a bit a soil to keep him warm." And he finally stops crying after a while.

And Neville faints. I would too.

"I see Longbottom, neglected his earmuffs." Professor Sprout observes

"No, he just fainted." One boy says

"Just leave him there. Right on. Plenty of pots to go around. Grasp your Mandrakes. And pull it up."

And we all did as told all at once. The cries is the only thing you could hear. They're kinda cute if you think about it.

Draco had the nerve to tickle and put his finger in his Mandrakes mouth. And it tried bit him. I couldn't help but laugh.
